Announcing the dumbledore thing would have spoiled the book. The Captain America thing however isn't a spoiler, it's pretty much the premise of story. IIRC the news made a big deal of Superman dying (he came back), Robin dying (he got replaced), and Batman's back being broken (he got better).SQ wrote:I don't undersand why captain america dying is such top news when way more people read harry potter and there wasn't a top news story on dumbledore dying.

Actually the day Superman "died," was the day I got into comics (and still am). That was 7th Grade and...14 or 15 years ago?godix wrote:Announcing the dumbledore thing would have spoiled the book. I basically heard on the radio "This is the day that Superman died." and they made it sound all serious and real. I figured I should get the issue and hold on to it (I didn't know the whole heroes never die thing) and on my way to pay I picked up another comic (X-Men #1 by Jim Lee and Chris Claremont before he went crazy) and from that point on, was hooked.
Ahhhh memories

He gets gunned down in Captain America #25 (the most recent Cap series), which is only a Civil War tie-in, not Civil War itself.SQ wrote:I doubt any of you actually knew which series captain america died in before you saw/read the story. (In case you didn't know, it's Civil War. There's 5-6 books, I've read the first 3. It's damn good.)
Civil War was total crap
