I'm not really into the slightly gothy image they have, but their music is incredible. It's definitely one of my favourite bands. It's very rare for me to like more than 40% of some band's songs but Nightwish easily managed to cross that border and go beyond.

. It's really amazing how people change their image so fast when popularity changes(upwards in this case).

Though, you only seem to listen to rather shity death metal, anyway, so your opinion is invalid to start with.

Simplistic music? Because it doesn't have soaring orchestrations like Blind Guardian uses? You're real quick to pass judgment on bands with seeming little knowledge of them. I'm not even a huge Nightwish fan, but that doesn't mean they can't play.Tono_Fyr wrote:Simplistic music. Actually, he seems to listen to pretty good death metal. Anyway, you can't invalidate an opinion with an opinion.Though, you only seem to listen to rather shity death metal, anyway, so your opinion is invalid to start with.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

It's an opinion in the form of a question, adds a bit of extra condesending venom, to make more of an ass out of yourself towards someone you don't like. I use the same thing all the time, so I answered the question then addressed the opinion it presented. What I did really wasn't all that hard to grasp, though, you seem like you have the equivalent brain mass of a head crab, anyway.Ted Bundy wrote:it isn't an opinion, it was a question, are you stupid or somethinTono_Fyr wrote:Simplistic music. On topic, I personally like the genre that Nightwish is a part of... if you want to hear some GOOD power metal stuff, best place to start is probably Blind Guardian. Hammerfall's good to, all-be-them more simple than BG. DragonForce is a bit faster than BG, but they also aren't as good at song writing (or varriety, for that matter). I'll recommend Iced Earth, even though I'm not a fan of their heavier stuff (usually too reliant on Rhythm guitars for me). If you end up liking IE and BG, check out Demons and Wizards, basically Blind Guardian's vocals (Hansi Kursch) with Iced Earths music (Jon Schaffer).
Eh, that's enough from me.

I've got some issues with Blind Guardian. They don't have any songs which strike me as being at all heavy in orchestrations (compared to Nightwish... BG more orchestral than Ghost Love Score? WTF), or at least that is noticable. The guitars sound kind of washed out often, the songs seem somewhat random, and the only thing that ever gives their sound any life or variety at all is when the vocalist does something truly different with his voice, such as in Bright Eyes, Maiden and the Minstrel Knight, or Imaginations from the Other Side.
For every one of those, there seems to be 20 identical-sounding Blind Guardian songs that fails utterly, in my opinion.

Nightwish? Blind Guardian? Hammerfall's? Dragonforce? Iced Earth? Demons and Wizards?
Is this what you listen to? WOW... you're a fag

Nightwish has never been a favorite of mine. I think the music is decent. However I don't really hear much that really shines from the band.
I don't like the vocals for this band. Just a personal preference...
The lyrics are ok. But once again I don't really see much that shines from it...
Basically overall it's ok, if your into them sure... fine. I'm just... not.

Why do people complain about things? Why can't they just be happy that they were made for them?
I respect everyone's right to not like something, but complaining about it will acomplish nothing...
