No, the problem is that too many anime fans are teenagers.

They grow up and become poor college students and keep doing it.
Then they get jobs and have been doing it so long they don't even think about it any more.

I actually know a number of people making over $50K a year that don't see the point in buying anime they can just download. They hate dubs and don't feel there's any value-add from them from the fansub they could (or have already) see(n).

Well, before, we would usually watch 1-2 single or double season series' a month. But while hubby was in Iraq, we both bought a lot of anime, so now we're watching a season or 2 worth of anime a week to try and catch up. >_< Currently watching Season 3 of Slayers as a filler before starting Aquarion. Just got done watching My Hime before that. As for choosing series, we usually go by either recommendations from friends, what we've seen in AMVs, or if we see a lot of cool artwork or figures from a series we've never seen, we may check it out. I think Kenichi was the last one we watched that I really enjoyed.

I can't remember the last time I watched any anime, at all. Two years at least. I'll probably rewatch Evangelion soon, just because that's timeless and I'll always love it, but it wouldn't surprise me if I never watch a series I haven't already seen before ever again. It just doesn't interest me like it used to.

I use to be like you. I edited for the lolz. I used anime as my source (my friend gave me the video files), only because I had no live footage (or knew how to obtain it). One day, I decided to watch the anime(FF) I was going to be editing with, only because I wanted to know what scenes I could use to match the song. I ended up liking the anime.The rest is history (It was the second anime I've seen, with DBZ being first)

I would recommend you watch the anime MONSTER. Quite Possibly the best anime ever made and will ever BE MADE (Imo). Its hard to even call this an anime for me since it has so many realistic elements/scenarios/locations, which relate closely to real life. Its 74 episodes long but well worth the watch. (I have watched the entire series 3 times) It could possibly spark your interest again.

To answer the original question. I watch anime every now and then. Usually 5 episodes every week.
