A-KON 21 • Video Contests and Special Events

Greetings from North Texas! I’m back once again this year to act as your liaison for A-Kon’s 2010 Video and Special Events contests. This announcement is just to inform everyone of the recent update to our new website and to let you know of the submission deadline - to give you enough time to prepare your videos for entry. It is still a work in progress, but all pertinent information is posted online.

** The submission deadline for all events is scheduled for May 2nd, 2010. **

** The submission system is scheduled to be implemented on or before March 29th. ** (I will be making a formal announcement once this is up and running.)

The AMV contests we have this year are the: Standard, Masters, and Hentai events. Please read over the F.A.Q. section for additional information regarding submission process, audio/video formats, types of entries, etc. If you have any questions or need clarification about certain guidelines, I’ll answer them as best I can.

The 'Standard' and 'Masters' categories both say "Participants in this event are not eligible to submit to any other A-Kon® AMV contests.",
while the 'Hentai' category says "Participants in this event are eligible to submit to any other A-Kon® AMV contests."

So can I submit one to Hentai and one to one of the others?

Actually, YES! You can enter the 'Standard' OR 'Masters' contests, but not both. The 'Hentai' contest is an open contest to all creators, enthusiasts, beginners and casual editors. However, you must meet the eligibility requirement of being eighteen (18) years of age or older.

So, for example, you can enter one video for Masters and one video for Hentai.
