Hello everyone!

It is that time of the year again folks! This year wasn’t as much as I expect to be, but it is still awesome. Next year we want more entrants for the 10th anniversary of Kawaii Kon! Better get your submissions in or else… we will whip anybody who didn't turn it in (just kidding~). Kawaii Kon 2014 would like to present

Who can enter?
Anyone can enter the VAST Contest - attendance is not required, but it is preferred. The only exclusion to entry is the direct staff of KK VAST – all other KK staffers are allowed to submit an entry.

What can I enter?
Any video editing project may be entered by its creator(s). Entries are not limited to AMV’s alone – any work of original production video art is also allowed, which includes (but not limited to) live action, self-animated, and self-shot video work. The only exception to this is videos entered in previous Kawaii Kon-AMV / VAST contests - which are considered ineligible for entry into the 2014 contest. The maximum number of entries that can be submitted by a single entrant is two videos.

Where can I enter?
The only way to enter the VAST Contest is via internet by either through public file transfer sites not requiring memberships to download or your own web hosting site. No hand-in entries will be accepted at the convention.

When can I enter?
Entries will be accepted NOW!
Entry deadline is February 14, 2014 by 11:59pm.
Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the KK-VAST Video Art Contest on Saturday, April 5, 2014

Why do I enter?
To win, who does not want to win some wood?! A 'Best In Showcase' will be awarded. Other prizes / awards may be included at the discretion of the KK-VAST staff, judges, guests, or the KK-VAST Assistant Director.

How do I enter?
Make a video, fill in the entry form, enter it and make sure it gets to us by the entry deadline. Preferred format is MP4/ MKV - other formats will also be accepted. Although your entries will be judged in their original submitted format, they will be converted to MP4/MKV on this end for display / archiving purposes. For the most control over how your video is displayed, it is suggest that you do your own MP4/MKV conversion work.

Yes folks we're back and we want YOU to enter the 2014 VAST Video Art Contest! We had some awesome entries last year and we now have a new home for the contest - an 'actual' theater! <insert oooohs and aaaaahs here> Yup! No more stealing an event room or panel room - an honest to goodness tiered theater and a big screen with a big ass sound system to boot!

So make sure you get your entries in by Valentine's Day 2014 (aww, how sweet - AMV's for Valentine's Day, you shouldn't have! <3)

It's almost the 1 month deadline, so it's the obligatory time where I show off our awards from previous years. So as an incentive for you to submit your videos, here's an image of the last 3 customized laser-cut wood plaques for Best in Showcase given out for Kawaii Kon's VAST 2011 - 2013.
