Because it was. Michael said that a very close second was Troy's "Downfall" vid in the pre-show, but it was not eligible.Stryyder wrote:I was pretty pleased by the contest (also excluding bad drama in action). My only reaction....what does it say that "common accident" was creator's favorite?

Re: Anime Expo 2010 Anime Music Video Contest Rules Up
Overall the contest was a improvement from last year. Comedy was extremely strong and all around every video in that category deserved a win. Action and Drama were alright, luckily they were saved by Spinning Infinity and Alchanum, hopefully my entries will finally pop a stronger interest next year. Though I was a little WTF with one of the drama videos this year, I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about. Pro wasn't too bad, I'd say 1 or 2 videos were out of place but I was definitely not disappointed with the category.
Though I'm also happy to make the preshow, I can't believe Michael picked my drama AMV from last year. It was the last video in the world that I would expect to be shown. Seriously.
I would again like to thank Michael for all the hard work he's been putting in, I was surprised he managed to pull of the contest with little to no hiccups let alone manage it with his other con duties which have taken a large amount of his time.

Re: Anime Expo 2010 Anime Music Video Contest Rules Up
Mmk, now that Im recovered from the week...
I thought the contest went really well. Lots of really good vids [Despite all the problems, I did enjoy 'that one vid'...dont judge me], looking forward to some of those becoming publicly available. And I dont even expect any Deathnote Rhapsody-like drama this year either, which is always a plus. See, people? Maybe the jedges are less fail than you think :p
My only complaints didnt really have to do with the contest itself. There was the fact that there didn't seem to be any warning about not being able to bring bags into the theater - my group had to run back to the car to drop stuff off and then come back - but Im not sure if thats just a Nokia thing or what.
Also, I liked the preshow vids [15 Minute Phonecall
] but... Havent we been seeing Skittles and Magic Pad like, every year now? Dont get me wrong - they're great vids and Im pretty sure they are both winners from previous years...but I dunno. If there need to be fan-favorites every year, could they be alternated every other year or something? This is major personal preference of course, but just wanted to mention it.
On a random note, the Drama entries seemed to be a bit darker this year for the most part ['Under There' and 'Princess of the Red Rose' in especially], and if I remember correctly, drama was pretty light last year?
I hope DP is getting some good rest now, he very much deserves it!

I'll take responsibility for that. Michael programmed the pre-show based on an incorrect time estimate I gave him. When Michael left to go backstage to prep, I was at the controls when I realized we would come up short, so I hastily added vids. There were many with titles I didn't recognize and had no way to preview, so I added whatever I knew including those you mentioned. My apologies.Hagaren Viper wrote:Also, I liked the preshow vids [15 Minute Phonecall] but... Havent we been seeing Skittles and Magic Pad like, every year now? Give me a recommendation on where to upload it other than YouTube. Tried uploading it there once and it got flagged already.Kazemon15 wrote:Speaking of pre-show... xstylus, I want that intro video you did on my computer.

Seems to work for me since youtube bans Ayumi Hamasaki videos.

Would it be possible for someone to add AX 2010 to the convention catalog, so we can tag the entries?
