Bannign si WAY overboard. this video shouldn't have been in teh finals but there is no reason to assume that it is not a "genuine entry" that was done in good faith. I wouldn't even call it a troll, it's just the same as 90% of youtube videos in that it's poorly edited and the guy thinks it's a good video. None of us agree with him but that isn't a reason to ban him.

Ok then can someone please talk to the special child then. Make sure they know it's wrong. Their brains cognitive enough to handle audio replacement so they should be able to process such info.

If AX can get us to judge next year, this dude ain't going through unless he really steps up his game.

I think that is somewhat demeaning to the editor in this case. Honestly I find the term special child to be incredibly insulting. Throwing around names like that isn't going to help anyone. So I'd ask you from refraining to use such demeaning terminology.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I am the very person who made the Persona AMVs. I totally agree that my AMVs shouldn't have made it to the finals. I was surprised that BOTH of them made it in. To be honest, I didn't even expect the one I entered last year (Blue Orchid) to make it to the finals. It was the first AMV contest I ever entered for AX and it has personally been eating at me that Blue Orchid was even considered PRO since it was a very amateur AMV. I even mention in the youtube link that the video was all clips from the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei openings so I wasn't trying to hide anything. I still consider myself a beginner editor and I want to let you all know that I want to learn to make AMVs that are actually worth making into the finals. I hope that I haven't upset too many people already since I just discovered about this recently. Just so you all know I plan on DQing myself from the finals becuase even I think there are way better AMVs that should have made it instead of me. I also want everyone to know that I know that I used a lot of openings in my AMVs. These 3 AMVs that have made it to the finals, surprisingly, were videos I made as practice for AMVs I did want to enter. Unfortunately I did not have time to finish them. Since the deadline was coming up I thought I'd try submitting the persona AMVs knowing full well that they were mainly straight-cuts of opening clips. I had a feeling that Blue Orchid only made it to the finals because whoever were the judges have never actually seen Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. The fact my Persona AMVs made it in fnals this year proves that they have obviously never seen or played Persona 3 or 4. I hope this helps clear things up, at least a little. I don't want people thinking I was trying to half-ass my AMVs or create trolls. However, I really did spent a lot of time trying to make these AMVs, so please don't criticize me about spending only a day on it. My lack of experience in editing would explain why it took a long time to create what everyone still considers as "poor." I don't believe these AMVs are better than ones by other editors who have made videos that are truly inspiring. Its because of these great editors that I wanted to edit AMVs in the first place. To know that I made it into the finals instead of them is pretty unfair. Hopefully I can withdraw and actually enter an AMV that is actually worth making in the finals in the years to come when I actually am more experienced. I just want to let everyone know as soon as possible before hatred towards me start to erupt and I get booed and lynched at the Nokia theater. I want to apologize about this predicament and I hope that I can be removed from the finals. I'll see want I can do about this, however, if nothing can be done about this please don't be angry with me and try to ban me from other AMV contests.

P.S. I want to thanks you guys for noticing what the judges did not notice about these AMVs, especially Radical_Yue, who I believe was the one who started this topic in the first place. Again, please don't hate me for this and blow this out of proportion. I do truly want to create AMVs that actually are at the same level of those editors who you guys admire so much. I also hope that when I do actually make a good AMV that it is something everyone can enjoy. Lets all pray that everything works out for the better and hopefully the rubric for judging AMVs in the future improves because of this incident.

Kloud I don't think you need to worry about pissing people off. There isn't anything you did wrong so there is no need to apologize. This is something that was out of your control. You clearly didn't have ill intentions at all so rest assured. People just ended up getting extremely rattled up about all this. And one could say you ended up somewhat becoming a scapegoat for that. At the end of the day I highly doubt anyone is really upset with you. But considering your statement above about the actual video. I have to at the very least give you my respect. Once again don't worry about any of this. As I'm sure everything will be resolved one way or another.

I'd recommend everyone to keep their complaining and whining to themselves at this point till everything is resolved. With that said it appears that I will be attending AX this year. Take from that what you will, I'd just recommend keeping the whining to a minimum.

I think there's far more anger at the process that allowed this to happen rather than at you or the video itself.

My knee jerk reaction, I must admit, was that I was pretty incensed over discovering it and was hoping to see some public shaming, which would have been highly inappropriate. Having had a day to cool off, the fault is with us (the judges), and the past four pages of postings on the matter concur. The onus is on us to learn from the experience.

We will do better.

One thing I gotta praise you on though...: Your encode was clean and it was clear you were working on clean source footage. Whatever you're doing in that regard, keep doing it because that easily gives you a handy advantage. Just actually edit it, 'kay? :)

Kloud don't worry about it - as I've said earlier I bear no ill will against you. Nothing about your videos struck me as made by someone who felt like half-assing it and trolling the contest. The video is "half-assed" to us only in teh respect that those of us that have been editing for a while, a video like that would be considered half assed but I mean that in teh nicest way possible (ok I know that doesn't really sound alot better). What I'm trying to say is that we understand you put a lot of work in your video - our problem itself is with the judging process that got it where it did, not with your or the video itself. Everybody's got to start somewhere, and none of us ever sprang from the depths as a fantastic editor so we all understand where you're coming from.

In short: don't worry about it, none of us hate you.
