This change was instituted two years ago, and we still ended up with a lot of entries, so we’ve had to keep it.
Which is correct?

So basically, as pro goes this year, we just have to scan the waiver?

And we send it to your email address, I'm assuming? I'm unsure, and would like to go ahead and submit my video so that I don't forget/procrastinate til the last minute.

Bleh, our webpage editor sucks and reverted a couple of edits. It's 2. And remember folks, dunno where the misconception started but just because we blind and try to protect the identity of entries, submissions do NOT have to be un-premiered. Send us whatever you want if you don't mind it being known as having been edited by you. It just adds an extra dimension to the contest if you're left guessing :D

As for the forms, emailing them to me is an option, a couple of people have been uploading them along with their video to the ftp. That works too, as does printing and mailing especially if you're domestic and don't have access to a scanner/camera.

Grahh... I really, really hate the default web editor they have as default for the website. Rewrote the dang thing so many times I started loosing track of where all the cuts-and-pastes went, and that bit must've slipped through. Corrected now. Lemme know if there's any other glaring errors in there.

I requested an FTP account for my video, and I've been having trouble getting connected. I believe it was requested on the 18th, and the fact that it's taken me so long to do anything might have some bearing on the account not working, but I'm unsure, so I'm asking if you close the accounts after the two days?

I'm shooting for Pro and thus will shoot for attending as well. Guess I'm pretty much obligated to show up since I had to skip out on 07. Also good to still have you with us MCWagner.

Replied by email since it's more appropriate.

To anyone else who's curious, the two days is pretty much the minimum. It's done by hand (two years ago it was a VERY hard 48 hours that actually caused more trouble than it was worth) so I'll sometimes leave it open a little longer. The earlier you submit the more leeway we have. When we start hitting deadlines we'll have to be more draconian to keep the process moving.

You can see if an ftp account still active by looking at your video's entry page. The button at the bottom will either be "Okay, I'm done so you can close it out" which means your account is still active or "Renew the account" which is pretty obvious.

I just got my FTP account e-mails, and this was part of what they said:
If this is a Pro or SAST contest video, please also include a representative thubmnail for inclusion on the judging disc as indicated in the detailed rules.
But the rules don't say anything about a thumbnail for SAST, just Professional.

So, assuming SAST does in fact require them, what restrictions (resolution, format) are there on the thumbnails?

Edit: Also, the lack of SFTP support is a tad disappointing.
