The final entry numbers are in and a winner in the contest to guess how many entries we've received has been announced.
Final count and winner can be seen here: http://board.otakon.com/viewtopic.php?p=147931#147931

Yeah but honestly having more submissions doesn't mean the contest is going to be any better or anything. That's something everyone should keep in mind while they are obsessing over entry numbers (as is often the case).
All it means is there was a bit more interest this year from creators who wanted to submit. I think it had a lot to do with having FTP back though, as 56% of the submissions came in that way.
I know it sounds odd for me to be saying that. You would think I'd be all happy and boasting about how we did better this year and how it's all because I'm doing such a good job as head or whatever, but in the back of my mind I know that if we ended up with fewer entries everyone would be going on about that and asking what went wrong. I figure I'd put this years good fortune to better use and point out how more entries dose not a better contest make (it doesn't sound like a spin, saying that when you have MORE entries).
That being said, we do have some REALLY good stuff this year (in my opinion at least). For example, I typically don't care to watch Serious/Dramatic videos (not if I have the choice between that and comedy or action), but I REALLY like a number of the serious entries this year.

I was sad that I didn't have time to finish an entry in time, since I'm actually going this year. But my bf said we'll probably go next year too, so I'll probably submit to that one. But good luck to everyone who did submit. I look forward to watching the awesomeness!! And I'll see those of you who are going there. *^_^*
