I went with more simple editing this year and didn't want to resort to my masking tricks (aka, too busy with work/life) to get in. Plus I felt pretty confident in my concepts and wanted to compete on a more level playing ground.

You know, after hearing most of us mention it and having it happen to myself for the first time, I have to wonder; why DO the videos we expect to make it fall short and the ones we don't favor as much get the finalist spot? It just befuddles me that my two comedies which I thought were awesome didn't do as well as my action which, quite frankly, I thought of as a last minute scramble with the least amount of hope to make it. I'm sure you who share my sentiments feel the same.

Still, there's always the pre-show.
