Although typically most of the audience members go just for the comedy vids, so unless you have alot of Reeeealy good drama vids that won't put the audience to sleep, it may not be a good idea to have it balanced more towards that than say comedy for the audience sake more so than the editors.hackerzc wrote: Personally I prefer a balanced contest, however as you can see the submissions are not evenly spread among the categories (not even close), so perhaps this is an option worth considering. I know it has been recommended in the past, and may indeed provide a more enjoyable/entertaining contest for all, which is why I am willing to entertain the idea.

Which is a good point that will be discussed. We've actually been getting a LOT of entries this week so It'll be interesting to see where things end up. I have not done a count or really paid attention to where all the new entries have been going... I want to surprise myself this weekend lol.Bakadeshi wrote:Although typically most of the audience members go just for the comedy vids, so unless you have alot of Reeeealy good drama vids that won't put the audience to sleep, it may not be a good idea to have it balanced more towards that than say comedy for the audience sake more so than the editors.hackerzc wrote: Personally I prefer a balanced contest, however as you can see the submissions are not evenly spread among the categories (not even close), so perhaps this is an option worth considering. BEEEEEEP!
Times up, pencils down.... pass your tests forward.
Thanks to everyone who submitted this year. To those who didn't =^P
The final number of entries will be posted Here some time this upcoming week.
You can also expect a list of finalists one day during the week of June 11th.
Ok, I've been up confirming vids and making slated for the past 18 hours. It's time for sleep now, you know... before I like DIE and stuff.

Maaaaaannnn...wish I'd noticed this topic sooner! (I almost NEVER check the boards...I'm glad these ones don't have a post count, mine would be sad)
But don't die! Sleep! We like you alive and well and undead!...well...that would make you a zombie...but I guess it would work...
But we appreciate all your hard work which people like me dumped on you and we do not want you to die for it!

BAH! Sleep is for the weak!
We work and then we die.
Oh, and if we're very very lucky, we get to watch some anime in between.

Pray 4 peace! Not an AMV, something you can do to help!

Hey, if you need any help with the contest at all, eg. setting up contest/overflow vids in order, let me know. I actually live down the street where you live (which explains why I just left my vid in your mail box, nice place by the way), so I can help out in anything that you need. Let me know; I'm always open. Preferrably weekends.
Hey, they finally put an edit option on the board. Neat.

Oh that was you! Hehe, by time I got to processing your entry it was part of a large pile so I lost track of who it was. Remind me to hit you later, you evil AMV stalker person, lol.Parodic Productions wrote:Hey, if you need any help with the contest at all, eg. setting up contest/overflow vids in order, let me know. Actually though things are going to be fairly easy to do, it's just time consuming. I have to render out slates (ie: the credits) for each video then convert them to MPEG2 (the computer does both on it's own. Just need to designate input and output file name), then make the tapes (which is just a matter of hitting record on the SVHS deck, and play on the computer... then waiting).
My car could use a wash though... you know where I live.

Actually I'm just kidding, that would be kinda creepy to look outside and be like "who the hell is that washing my car!?"... *yells outside* "You missed a spot!"
