You have a terrible AX record?
Spoiler :
1999 - Submitted AMV that will not be named because I'm still too ashamed of it

2000 - Submitted 1 AMV - did not make it in

2001 - Submitted 2 amvs - neither made it in

2002 - Submitted 2 amvs - neither made it in

2003 - Submitted 1 amv - did not make it in

2004 - Submitted 2 amvs - both made it in

2005 - Submitted 2 amvs - one made it in

2006 - Submitted 3 amvs - one made it in

2007 - Submitted 3 amvs - 2 did not make it in - 1 sort of made it in and sort of won
This was the bizzare year. Because the third video won the AMTV catagory but it wasn't even a catagory yet, the award was given to me at the awards ceremony for a non-existant catagory at that time. So I technically have an award from a catagory that doesn't exist.

2008 - Submitted 3 amvs - one made preshow

2009 - Submitted 3 amvs - one made preshow

2010 - Submitted 1 amv - Did not make it in (shouldn't have submittede that year, was busy with BAR exam and wedding) - Won AMV Iron Chef

2011 - Submitted 3 AMVs - 2 made finals

Previously linked
So I've been submitting for 13 years, 27 videos entered, 6 have made finals, one SORT OF won an award and another 2 were in pre-show. So in 13 yeras I've actually never won anything at the main AMV contest except for that wierd year of 2007 which I've yet to figure out how to classify that. The only solace I have is that since 2004 I've had a video shown at AX in one form or another every year (if you count last year's Iron Chef video).

Whoah. I stand corrected.

You would have been up against Kevin Caldwell in 1999 and 2000. :uhoh:

1999 I was up against Engel and Caffine Encourium. So figure what my odds were then when it's also a video i'm too ashamed to show. That was also the one and ONLY year that AX had creator judging. Ask anyone that was there, it was a terrible but hilarious mistake.

Actually the funny thing I remember from that yeare was seeing an Eva video to Pet Shop Boy's It's a Sin (I still have that video somewhere) that had just quick beat synching at the beginning (shot between 01 and Shinji in cockpit) on the first four beats back and fourt. That REALLY impressed me back then and I thought I'd never be able to pull something that looked that good off at all. . . and it was just beat synching.

My very first AMV went up against him in 1999. Did pretty well too, or so the coordinators told me.

My record: Made two AMVs, both of them were shown, one of them won the category. Haven't made anything long since then though, so I've got no right to gloat. ^^;;;

Well of course you never made anything else, whywould you totaly waste 6 mininutes and 35 seconds of the audience's time again :P :P :P

Ironically, AX was the first con I entered anything into a contest... Was the first time I won someting in a contest... Saw a paper airplane put a hole in the very expensive screen... Expereinced an AMV audience almost turn into a angry MOB... Ahh the good old days

"This is a $30,000 screen. It has just been pierced."

You know what's funny is that before this thread I didn't quite realize just how long I've been editing, it's been practically 11-12 years now. Which means I've been editing since I was 15 or 16. Damn, there's even a mention of one of my first two amvs in one of my old high school yearbooks.
