Anime Expo 2011 - AMV Chef is BACK!

I had a fun time at the AMV Chef and thanks to Rider for accepting my challenge and also to everyone who showed up! I hope everyone also enjoyed my "surprise".

So, opinions on this year's event, anyone? It was bumpy at first (tech fail) but once the ball was rolling things went very well in my opinion. Next year will be even better.

i wasn't really paying attention.


however i heard a lot of regular noise from the audience so my opinion was they enjoyed it.


that was seriously the fastest 3 hours of my life.

I chose not to comment on the tech part because I figured it went without saying and hopefully, you'll have the time to test it beforehand next year. If anything, it can be used as a good example that they should give you a tad bit more time for setup/takedown. ;p

First of all, the computers are amazing. Literally no lag between switching programs (I used Premiere, AE, and Photoshop) and insanely fast rendering times.

I did hear quite alot of noise and videos (thanks to Nic for playing "Reunion" as a change of pace from my more "famous" videos!), but I couldn't really make out what was going on, nor did I have the time to figure it all out. I was glad to see the "Trainwreck" video during the AMV awards.

Since I was up on stage the entire time, I really can't comment on the audience stuff that happened, but I had a pretty fun time regardless of my stomachache from the $8 burgers during the first 2 hours.

When I get home from work and post my AMV Chef video, I'll put my thoughts about that experience in the description.

And I have to say, some parts were fun, others, not so much. Though it's just my opinion, I guess I couldn't get into it because I had no idea what was going on besides the AMVs that played. The audience participation seemed a little unfair to me, but I can't really complain about it because I am a unique case.

Though, I am very curious about how one can participate in an AMV Chef challenge...that looked fun to me, especially Rider up there trying to edit as fast as her hands can take her. XD

If you apply to be a judge, then you can be eligible to become the opponent. I was chosen as the challenger this year and had to pick from the judges as my opponents.

Though those rules seem so long and complicated. It appears AMV Chefs at cons are much more simpler. XD

Maybe I'll sign up for next year's AX AMV Chef....
