mk i can accept that for now. considering they're 2 of the most popular events at AX and a LOT of people would be unhappy if they had to choose between them. i can't picture the coordinators doing something so rediculous :nono:

H.264
So, what containers can I put that H.264 video in? Ogg Media? Matroska?

Do you have a preference concerning field order?

at 24 frames per second progressive.
That also includes 23.976 fps, right?

Avi Preffered, Mov accepted
Scintilla wrote: Do you have a preference concerning field order?
Its my understanding that lower is usually standard on most NTSC systems. Honestly Progressive is really prefered but if you are sending Interlaced go with lower order please.

Kinda nitpicky isn't it? :)

Standared 24fps, (which is 23.976 if i recall)
just like NTSC 30 is actually 29.97 if I recall.
don't have my cheatsheet infront of me.
Most editors handle this automatically so just selecting NTSC and your prefered framrate should be fine.

The proffered formats are listed pretty clearly in the rules.
If you wish to submit on MP4 be aware that it will be going into Premiere Pro CS3 before going to DVD (Mpeg2). So depending on your compression settings artifacting may occur.

If you wish to submit in a format other than those listed you are welcome to do so however we will offer no guaranty that their quality won't alter in this process.

So deviate from the supplied list at your own risk.

What was the format you uploaded last year Rider?
That format should work fine. After doing a bit more research I am pretty sure PPro handles mp4 natively. I will need to verify it directly here soon and get you a better answer.
Sorry for the confusion.

If you wish to deinterlace them that's fine.

See its questions like this that help us adjust the rules each year. :) Thank you for asking them.
