OMNICON, TN - AMV Contest
Hello everyone! This is my first post here on AMV's forums, but I will try to keep this as professional and simple as possible. Basically, I represent a college club, Alpha Psi Phi (not a frat, just a pun, get it), that is starting up a convention, OMNICON, on April 10-11, 2010 in Cookeville, Tennessee. We, the members of APP, were wondering if any of you talented folks out there would be interested in making anything for our contest. Anyone who sends something in will recognized for their work and could possibly even win a prize!
The contest is still pending on how many people, if any, decide to join. Prizes are also still being decided upon.
The rules thus far:
Must be G - PG-13, no nudity or rated R material.
Must be anywhere from 1 minute and a half to 5 minutes long.
People can only submit one video for the contest.
I guess I should explain a bit more about the convention. The convention is called OMNICON (no we're not OMNICON Texas). The convention was started up in the early days of 2000, but due to the majority of the club graduating the convention had to be canceled in 2003. We are planning on bringing it back, hopefully, better than ever! It's main focus will be science fiction & fantasy, but we will be including almost anything a nerd could possibly enjoy.
As soon as our official website is up, I will, of course, post it here for all to see. Also, I will add a special section for the AMV contest to the website for everyone here. ^^
I would just like to say, though, that I've seen many a wonderful video come from AMV and to see some of them come to our convention would be even better! Please post if you have any questions about the convention, rules, etc.

Re: Convention AMV Contest
Suggestion: edit the topic in your original post so that people who might click on it know *which* convention you're running the contest for.
I may be back later when you get the website up to ask more specific questions about the technical specifications in the rules (that's just my thing).

I'll enter mine for show, not to compete. Use them if you like.

Re: OMNICON, TN - AMV Contest
Hey everyone, I'm proud to announce that the OMNICON website is finally up! (We are still adding things to the site, so please be patient, o.k.)
Check it out!

Also, we're thinking of doing a theme for the contest. Which would you all prefer out of these suggestions:
Comedy
Serious
Action

Re: OMNICON, TN - AMV Contest
Just to clarify, we don't host videos on our site, we will only be showing them at the convention. If you have a video to enter into the contest, then simply host it wherever you normally would. As for where to send a video (link or otherwise), you can send them to app.omnicon@gmail.com (there is a 25MB limit, however, so anything larger will have to be linked instead of sent).
