confused about interlacing

in Vegas my AMV looks like this:

rendered to AVI it looks like this:

and some of the transitions are ilke this:

in Vegas these transitions go from a clear, normal frame of one scene to the next one.

I know this is probably the most noob question ever but wtf is going on?

my source is 25fps, my project properties are 25fps (the default was NTSC, I changed to PAL after I finished editing) with deinterlace method set to 'blend fields' and I rendered the file to a 25fps avi with huffyuv and resolution set to 'use project settings'. my source files all come from a PAL DVD where I extracted the .vobs then put them through DGIndex, opened in virtualdubmod and saved to .avi while applying the deinterlacing filter.

I already tried disabling resampling on all my clips in vegas.

am I only seeing these flaws because I'm watching this on a PC? this file is for a convention where the videos will be played on a projector. so I dont know if this is even an issue but I have a really simple request: I want to render my file exactly as it appears in the vegas preview.

It seems that there is interlacing on the original video clip...after you created the DGIndex file, it would have been wiser to use avisynth to deinterlace. However, I believe the problem you have might lie with the project settings. The field order, if the original clip is properly deinterlaced, then make sure the Field order setting is set to None (Progressive Scan). Change it to that and render the video again to see if there is any difference, if not, then just come back.

rendering in progressive scan worked great, thanks.

yeah there is some interlacing in that first pic but thats the only scene where I notice it.
