Way back last summer I had posted here requesting help with cleaning up footage on the R1 Black Cat DVDs. Several editors offered great advice on what filters would work best. However I forgot to reply with an update before the thread got locked.
Anyway, following the advice I received from the previous thread, I installed the DftTest() filter and found terrific results in removing most of the heavy pixilation that plagued the discs.
Here are the results . . .
Clip 1 before filtering
Clip 1 after filtering with my original script
Clip 1 after filtering with DftTest()
Clip 2 before filtering
Clip 2 after filtering with my original script
Clip 2 after filtering with DftTest()
Anyway, I just wanted to extend my thanks to Mosc, Kariudo, Eva-Fan, and CorruptNova for all their help and insight on how to solve this dilemma.

Also, that's not pixelation; that's macroblocking and mosquito noise if anything.
