Grupo Hanamaru: Grand Pimp Video

Post by MadNavigator » Fri Jan 07, 2005 8:28 pm

Hello, hola, and all that other good stuff. This is Kin "The Mad Navigator" Freon of Grupo Hanamaru back from sabbatical in San Andreas to do some VCA 2005 Grand Pimp Video stylage straight from the Tacoma Dome!

First on the list is Super (Freaky) Hero by Joykiller. Big up on the replay factor, and I always love showing this video to my buddies. Poemy is a "Super Freak" indeed, and it took just the right amount of editing, flashy effects, and the late great Rick James to fully do it right through the dark of the night.

Next on the list is the best video I've ever seen at a convention (even if I was a finalist in the same contest), Grand Theft Bebop 2: Vice City by Fluxmeister. This video is, in a word, brilliant. Tricky audio editing, clever video sync, and Photoshop overlays (gotta love the Pricedown font) makes this video worth both a download and a nomination.

Last on the video nomination list is I Don't Want To Miss A Thing by MisterFurious. This video is deep and, IMO, well crafted to suit the extreme emotions. This video SHOULD have won at Sakura Con...but kids like that Disney stuff, not Aerosmith. They will never fully appreciate the vocal magic that goes through that massive maw of Steven Tyler, for they are far too young.

Whoa, I'm rambling...

On the editors side of things, I want to give nods to Pwolf, Vlad G. Pohnert (even if you're not in this, you know I got mad respect for ya), the fellas across the pond at SMAHUT, Nostromo, kiaraiskiara (I still love that "Come On Eileen" video), and Voices of Ryan.

And now the part you've all been waiting for (hey, don't leave yet)...

I wanna pimp my best video of 2004, Beautiful...Man?

See y'all back in the game somewhere. Keep it real. 8-)

My vote for comedy and/or fun.

It's so good that just winning last year's award for Best Trailer wasn't enough. Lucky for the competition, it doesn't qualify this year.
Final Doom "Amazing things will happen here soon."

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance "Everyone knows that it's a dangerous substance."

Read a number wrong. My bad.

(At this rate, Pre-Algebra's gonna be hell)

But at least I gave the vid some love.
