Looks like somebody was left out of the loop.
We've actually been planning this since the first one ended We tried to keep it under wraps, i posted it in my journal by mistake once ...a few minutes later bazui PMed my demanding it be removed, caplocks were used.
So don't feel left out, the editors were the only ones that knew about it.

And i guess i'm not the amazing genius i thought i was ...but that last paragraph kinda gave that away, lol. Laughing

Now I got it! The magic word is RGBA (RGB+Alpha) as video output. Alpha = transperency. So if you fade your transition into nothing it saves the "nothing".

But:
1. Your editing software must render out into RGBA (to be honest: I didn´t figured out were the error was or why it didn´t worked in my AE, but it worked with Particle Illusions).
2. Your partner must have an editing software that can handle RGBA videos (my AE did once, but doesn´t now, for no real reason).

It´s tricky, but damn awesome.

Bazui. No ... i meant the first (and rather basic) method with the green screen/chroma >_< But now that you mention it, that WOULD be way better.
I'm not sure if vegas can do that, but i'll look into it.

About transitions: I'd rather do more complex, fun stuff than simple crossfades, so please just edit the track without doing anything special to the beginning or end. I have AE, this would be a fun time to play around in it a little.
