Are you still using
160x120 and 320x184 for some of your source video footage?...
No matter how you export it if you are using 160x120 and 320x184 footage it wont look good >_<.
Try to use 640x480 and 720x480 footage

Since you don't have a lot of high quality footage of sailor moon, how about using another anime?sailor earth wrote:that was the best i could do
Im sure you probally have some anime dvds or another source that is high quality you can use.
Your pictures were good quality, its just your video source wasn't good.
Isn't there another anime you could use that is higher quality?
This is a sailor moon music tribute but you can use other anime besides sailor moon ^_~
There are also other songs if you want something else to work with
http://amv4000.org/Sailor_Moon_Project/
Just work with a source that is 640x480 or higher and you shouldn't have any problems.
If you need a dvd ripper you should try
Dvd decrypter. Its free and works very good.

Speaking Out - Niji Tsuki
To Moonie211 and anyone else who cares to read:
Be you warned, young one, that I'm not in the brightest of moods when writing to you.
From what I hold to be true, there has be a grieve misunderstanding as to how this mep was supposed to have worked. It's apparent you gave Sailor Earth the idea for it and when she failed to meet your unexplained expectations, you subtly took over her mep thread (which by the way had NOT been locked) by posting a "suggestion" as to how she should do it. On your "official" thread, you say she agreed that you solely would run the contest, but again there was an apparent misunderstanding, for she thought you meant that you would HELP run the contest, not take it entirely as your own. Now be it known that my sister is not the most articulate person in the world, nor is she the best typist, but her pride does bruise easily and your total control of what she started has left her complaining to me for months about it.
She feels she's been locked out of her own project because of little details, that in the end, nobody's going to care about. The latest version of the video she showed me was actually worse rather than better according to whatever suggestions you gave her (or however it is she interpreted them. Either way, there is major communication breakdown somewhere along the lines that one or the other is not communicating/interpreting effectively).
Just take the first video she sent you. It'll be fine, trust me. If people seriously have a problem with it, it will be with her and not you, but you know what? The only people who are going to have a problem with it are people who think they’re some kind of Hollywood producer simply because they have an editor and a few DVDs. This is not a serious business - this is recreation, a way to pass time and to have fun, not a place for regulations. That’s why on my own contest I’ve seriously started cutting down a majority of the rules because they suck the fun right out of these contests.
If nothing else, just take the video she sent you. I liked it, and that’s coming from an over-critical perfectionist. Let’s put an end to all this. It’s just a video.
And to all those who enjoy bashing Sailor Earth:
The sad truth about the written word is that it cannot express the true meaning of human emotion. It is limited merely by the visual letters seen by the eye. But the true meaning of any word is conveyed through tone, inflection, body and eye movement, and a variety of other non-verbal elements. Emoticons can barely touch on what these other things bring to the meaning of words.
What I’ve seen you type to and about my sister has been enough. Whether it has been done as a harmless joke or as a true cruelty, I want it to stop. You insult her intelligence, you make fun of her videos, you present her with videos that are incredibly “Dee-Dee-Dee” to coin the phrase of her so-far only successful MEP, all because of the fact that she’s trying to be non-discriminatory. She doesn’t want to put in place complex rules that make it so hard you can’t even enter. She doesn’t want to say, “No, you can’t send in a video if you use such-and-such editor,” or “No, you can’t use this anime because I don’t like it.” She just wants to provide people with small ideas to come up with general videos – and when she does have a vision, she’s no good at typing it all out.
You’re more than welcome to provide her with honest critical opinions as any video viewer should do, but cut it with the needless bashing. Nobody likes a hater, and unfortunately those who only mean things as harmless jokes can be interpreted as haters because of the complete miscommunication that can come from the written word.
Unfortunately for me, I’m typing to a broad audience which is inclusive of many people who may be innocent and others who may be guilty. I cannot pass judgement upon each individual person, but I can at least bring it to everyone’s attention that they should carefully choose their words before just randomly typing them out. Within this message alone I have stopped myself several times in order to find better wording in perhaps a not-so-passionate tone.
So, old long-winded Niji Tsuki is finally winding down on this message. I hope everyone realizes I’ve taken the great risk of losing face with many editors, but I’ve said what need to be said. The fact remains that Anime Music Videos.Org was created as a place to showcase videos that were made for fun, to show one’s creativity, a place where anime fans could get together and have a good time. Let’s make it that way, shall we?
(To Moonie - no disrespect was meant to you. Just to explain what has been going on over here at Rose Studios)

Jesus freaking christ. Enough with the damn soap operas.
First, I have nothing against Sailor Earth. But if there was a problem with who was running this MEP, why didn't she bring it up in the forum?
In the beginning, she created a MEP that had no rules. This will do nothing but cause chaos and rampet disorder among the participants. Conflicting aspect ratios, frame rate, and quality. That is what the "Advice for Project Coordinators" sticky is for. While it would be nice to create a MEP like this, it just leads to destruction. And the rules are usually never that complex, mostly just the aim of the project and the tech guides so all the videos are uniform in every way except for content. That makes compiling them together in the end so much easier. I mean, some people make clips for a MEP that are nearly 1GB and they have to be compressed. The drawback with WMM is that you cannot export losslessly so when the huge tracks are compressed, the lossy WMV files get compressed too and lose a lot of their quality. Personally, this is the only reason I don't like WMM files.
What I have noticed on these forums is that when people build a reputation, it can be VERY dificult to fix. Right now, she is looked down upon by the other editors for her still developing skills. I have no doubt that she can one day be an awsome editor, everyone has that ability. But while this is a hobby, there are some things that are expected these days. What I saw in her videos is something reminescnet of many pre-org videos and some very early ones when VHS was king.
Take my other hobby, Model railroading, for example. Sure it is easy to set up track and switch on the power and make the train run in circles. But those who have earned the respect of the hundreds of other Railroaders strive for another level. They hand lay the track themselves using ties and seperate rails, build their own switces from scratch, create complext operation procedures, etc. The same can be said for amvs. What may be good to some people will look like crap. I've gotten many positive hits for my own video "The History of Dragonball" but I think it is worth shit. It is a matter of tase and these days, it is all about quality. Yesteryear was about complex edits. These things change and the editor has to adapt.
I'm not going to get into detail with this, but I WILL agree with Moonie211 and JubJub about the video. You cannot resize 160x120 to 720x480. Try doing that with you avatar. Go from 80x80 to something like 160x160. It starts looking like hell. It is the way this stuff works. If the subbed footage is better quality, she can easily get around this with the cropping. It will be a small resize, but should not affect the video too much.
Personally, I think this is a matter that should be rectified in private between Moonie211 and Sailor Earth. I for one am getting tired of all this bull about editing programs and people being judged based on that as well. For now, I think it is fine for Moonie211 to run the project with Sailor Earth being given the credit for orginally starting it via a suggestion from Moonie211. But that is my opinion. Moonie and Sailor Earth should reach some mutual agreement and let bygons be bygons.
Sorry to randomly post here, but I've delt with shit like this in another MEP and it pisses me off that shit like this is running rampet. There, i've said my piece and I'll be moving on. Good luck with whatever transpires in the end.

Sorry but i've decided not to include Sailor Earth's video in the project the way it is now.
She used 360x120 video and streached it to 720x480 and the quality was very bad.
Here are some screenshots from some other videos in the project.
You can see a big difference in the quality of these and hers.

I don't belive that my rules were too harsh in this project The videos just needed to be at least 640x480 at high quality.
The fact that is was in wmv wasn't a problem and could be converted to avi easily.
And i don't even mind if your source is DVD or not as long as its high quality.
I have nothing against Sailor Earth and would like to have her in the project but a 360x120 streached video just doesn't cut it.
If she can make a high quality video then i wouldn't have a problem putting her in the project.
I originaly gave the ideal for this project to Sailor Earth
but her thread didn't do well because she didn't set any rules or requirements.
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=69846
After her mep failed I used the ideal and made this one myself.
Im sorry for the misunderstanding that she though we would be running this together.
Now...
Some Updates
It looks like Senshimamoru might be dropping out of the projet
I'll go ahead and leave his info up just incase he finishes his video.
Most likely Kionon won't be in the project but i'll go ahead and leave the info up aswell.
Also...
........................................................................................
Multiple Major Updates!(this feels familar for some reason...)
Scratch what i said before!
For the remaining project im going to do something crazy and let poeple do a mix if they want.
You can only mix up to 3 songs and the songs must have a nice flow together though.
Im also going to do something kinda similar to the AMV - Signs of Hope and Light MEP
If anyone has previously made an amv with a sailor moon song, they can submit that to the project too.
Members can submit as many of those as they want, but if i get too many i might have to leave some out of the project.
Those videos must meet the project requirements.
Videos should be of high quality as possible and should not have subs or logos.
Filetype should be .avi
The resolution should be 640 x 480 29.97fps and should not have any Interlacing. They should be progressive and should be compressed in Xvid or Divx at high quality.
Also
Each video in the project has an intro before it that shows a sailor moon wallpaper,
scenes from sailor moon on the left side, the Moonlight Melody logo scrolling at the top and the members name scrolling acoss the bottom.
Each intro also has a different wallpaper and song that helps each video flow into each other.
They are made using Xara Webstyle, SwishMax and Adobe Premier
Here is a screenshot from one of the intros

Right now i have alot of wallpapers picked out for the videos but if there is a certain on you want in your intro you can send it to me.
The intros are made with a template I made in Swishmax and can be adjusted easily.
The requirements for wallpapers are
1: Must be a Sailor Moon wallpaper (This is a sailor moon tribute after all ^_^)
2: Must be high quality
3: Must be 800x600 or larger
4: Must not have alot of text on it
5: Must not be a 800x600 screenshot >_<
6: Must not have any offensive content
Here are some good sources for sailor moon wallpapers

I agree... finishing the project would be a better thing then letting this die to petty sqwabilling...
In that light, I'm about 90% done with my current video. With all the other stuff I have to do for conventions I'm running I wont be able to do any other videos for this project as much as I'd like to.
