This is a new mecha series animated by Studio Fantasia (who did those panty-shot anime series like Agent Aika and Najica Blitz Tactics) with direction by Tetsuya Watanabe (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Zone of the Enders). Basically the first episode shows how the main female's protagonist named Sara Werec life was pretty good. She pretty much excelled in her military academy and has 3 other friends (with one of them being a potential love interest) who she was close. She pretty much made it her goal to succeed in order to meet up her brother who's in the front lines of some war. Wouldn't that be some plot?

Now comes the second half of episode 1....

...hell broke lose, and enemies invaded Sara's academy. She and her friends tried to fight off them with mechas known as STRAIN, but an enemy STRAIN appeared basically KILLED ALL of Sara's friends. It's discovered that the pilot of that mech is her brother!

I have to say Ayako Kawasumi's (who did the voice of Sara) crying really pierced my heart. She really lost everything.

Now comes episode 2...

...Sara transfered to a new military academy, and she changed her last name because most likely she wants to sever any ties to her traitorous brother. She also lost her MIMIC which something she needs in order to pilot the STRAIN. So basically, she's back to square one and has to work her way up again. And not to mention she's stuck piloting a less powerful mecha. Luckily, she still kept her stamina up, but a lot of cadets were making her life far more difficult.

Interestingly enough, this series is loosely based on A Little Princess by Francis Hodgson Burnett. Info of the novel is found here:

This is one mecha series that certainly has a promise! I shall root for Sara throughout the series!

Episode 3.....oh boy!

Well, the first half has some comedic moments especially with those two kids in the pit crew. And also the cadets were supposed to have training in that sub-light speed space. Of course the second half is where the enemies including Ralph and his badass Strain appeared and really teared through the defenses. Those cadets pretty much had no chance (not even that bitch Isabella....).

With things looking really hopeless, it's all up to Sara who gets to pilot a specialized Strain where she uses that doll Emily as her MIMIC. Cues EVIL CLIFFHANGER!!!

This is turning out to be pretty solid stuff.

This is one of the series I can't wait to find out what happens next. I've seen the movie that this series is based loosely on.

Ok, the movie was based upon the book but you know what I mean.

Is it just me or is the doll she finds the mimic of the girl she see's her brother grab in the first episode. The way the 2nd episode ended gave a big suggestion it was. Could he of been attacking cause of the doll in episode 3 and cause of the girl in episode 01. I wonder if he knows that he's come close to killing his sister a few times or if she's been convently in the wrong place at the wrong time

I've been following this series for a while now, but man is it getting good.
I'm on episode 9:

Seems everyone that falls in love with this girl is destined to die lol... Just now in this episode, her brother kills claus as if he was nothing, and everyone finds out that she is actually the sister of the traitor that they all hate. She also meets the real Emily and finds out that the doll is linked with her. at the end of this episode we see her determination to kill the brother she loves to stop him from killing so many people, and that she won't let anyone else do it.

Can't wait for the next episode now
