If you want to watch an anime that totally defies the laws of physics and reason totally beyond what you;d normally expect from an anime, and seriously, then this is the show for you 
We live in a time of battleships, space wars, lasers, Horse carages, ... er wth? Yes Horse carages to get around on, Swords to fight with (not light swords, the kind Knights used to use back in the day) , AND meraculously they can breath in space. Not only do they have the technology to fight in space, and lack it for auto transportation, but they also see the need for slave labor to power some of the stuff on the planets... if thats what they are....
This anime is pretty much a mixture of space Sci-fi with 1800's time period. 2 major nobel factions are fighting it out at the begining of the series, and the new faction ends up winning and overthrowing the old faction. However the new faction is even more cruel and overbearing to the poor and advantageous only to the nobels, much more so than the previous one was, so the main character starts the Peoples army to rebel against them.
Although this anime is pretty er... unrealistic in much of its concepts, for some reason beyond any explanation I can muster, its grabbed my attention so far, and i'm actually eager to see what happens next.
