For those of you who haven't seen City Hunter, this is an unofficial 'sequel' to it, however, the author, Tsukasa Hojo wants to put it in an alternate universe ala Tenchi Universe TV... This was due to fans complaining about... [spoiler...]

Anyways, I think this series is quite a step up from the previous City Hunters. Sunrise's animation for the original City Hunter WAAYYY back in the 80s-90s was very low budget. You can tell cause in some of the ADV Fansubs *gah* releases, there was a chase scene, and nobody EXCEPT the people running moved. Yes, it was low quality animation HOWEVER, the story and the characters and just the comedy as well were good enough to keep City Hunter floating for 90+ eps I think. Well done.

Here we have an oddity. Ryo Saeba is still horny as hell *oh yeah*... and the action due to a MUCH higher budget is quite good. Watching a babe tear through a car roof using a machete and then blowing up the car by putting a bullet through the gas cap, though maybe cliche, will ALWAYS be fun to watch.

The fact that she's an uber hottie REALLY hits the spot...

Saw 3 eps in, must see more!!! gah!!!

odd... I searched for this and couldn;t find it ;p
I guess I don;t need to post an intruduction to this anymore since Omnistrata already did ;p Its about a girl assasin called glass heart, who attempts to kill herself by peircing her heart, but the mafia saves her by stealing a heart in trasnit to be used as a transplant somewhere else. Only this heart belongs to City hunter's girl and partner Kaori (who was actually to be his wife, but was killed in an accident on their weding day) Now Kaori essentially lives inside glass heart, and shares some of Kaori's memories with City hunter. this causes her to search out city hunter...

Anyway, This series has gotten realy good, they are at about eps 11 now with the fansubs, I'm thinking its probably going to be a 13 episode series, since from what i've seen so far, it looks like its comming to an end in the story line. But who knows.... The animation took me a bit to get used to (character designs) its kinda serious looking, but actually has its light moments and enough comedic releif at the right moments to remind you its not all serious. The action sequences are done realy well though. I love the opening song too, performed by Sowelu.

There's MORE than 13 eps, apparently, the next ep is called "City Hunter Returns"

Without posting any spoilers, I found the relationship that grew between Glass H. and Ryo to be quite cute, funny, fitting, and yet disturbing, all at once...

I miss the old City Hunter anime / movies, good to see Sunrise coming back with a higher budget vengeance...
