gantz on anime network

Post by supersayian313 » Sun Apr 17, 2005 8:05 pm

ok first i watched the entire UNCUT series in japenese with english subs, now it on anime network in english and edited. you gotta see the uncut episodes. when they edited it , it really took away from the show in my opinion. i was blown away by the uncut eps. so if you only saw edited, your missing out.

You're right. Once you cut out the extremes in the TV-MA version, all you have is a rather ... boring series. :?

IMHO, Gantz would make an even better, more interesting Midnight-time series for Anime Network in it's uncut format. :)

I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

ADV Films is continuing a drive to get digital cable providers to carry Anime Network 24/7.

Right now, though, many have it as On-Demand.

If you want to know if your cable provider has it (or can get it), go to the Anime Network main site and see:

i agree about the rest of the scenes being boring. the editing took away the cutting edge. and not to mention the shock value , one of the things that made this show stand out. i mean i am not a blood and guts freak or anything but it made me a huge fan of the series. and if you got digital cable you should have on demand for anime network.

Did they cut out ep 3 like they did in japan's mainstream run?

And yea, when you cut out the sex, violence and very 'mature' situations there's not much to watch since Gantz is about those things and how people react to those things. The "Why doesn't he just shoot the monster" issue is explained a bit better when you can see the whole picture as well, or maybe they just did a good job with the english dubbing cause it didn't seem to be as stretched out as it was when I saw it subbed.

yeah i believe so. i picked up the dvd yesterday, the uncut version, it says on the cover "too graphic for japan" uncut, unedited. i didnt get to watch it yet because i got the new yu yu hakusho dvd yesterday too. "king yuremeshi" from three kings.

but adv does have the graphic versions avaliable.
