I <333 THIS MOVIE!!!
This movie takes the concept of time-traveling, and gives it an interesting whirl. Obviously the title gives away that the main character is indeed a cute schoolgirl, who's named Makoto Konno, who can travel through time by leaping. You can pretty much guess that conflict will involve her carelessness of the time-traveling affecting other people mainly her 2 guy friends, but the execution will not bore you at all. They pretty much taken that concept, and put it into a subtle, slice of life style. Plus there's an inclusion of likable characters which are designed by Evangelion and .hack fame Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. And with subtle yet slick designs, Madhouse Studios has once again done a solid job bringing this film the necessary atmosphere needed.
Pretty impressive from director Mamoru Hosoda who I found out he directed the first 2 Digimon movies.
Of course, I heard this movie did rake in a lot of awards in Japan so it is pretty justifiable. C'mon, Kadokawa Pictures USA! Choose your R1 distributor!

seeing as all the hooplah it got as far as awards in japan, and that even my DAD who is not a major anime fan knows about this without me telling him, i'm sure it probably will ;pWillen wrote:This movie was spectacular. If it doesn't get a R1 release soon, there is no justice in this world. A theatrical release would be better, but I'm willing to settle for a DVD. As long as it's soon. My wallet cannot handle a R2 DVD purchase.
I beleive Kodokawa USA is probably doing it.
On a side note, I finally found out where I first saw the trailer for this while editing my Otakon amv, it was on the Haruhi R2s ;p

Wow, Kadokawa must really love how Bandai handles their titles, huh?

At any rate, I'm now eagerly awaiting a release date.
