Ok, a few things to note:

1) It's Coldplay. I usually hate their music, but this is my exception. The song is a bit overdone over the years, but I have yet to see an AMV that uses this song to this anime, so it's still somewhat (VERY loosely termed) original. Unless I come across another song of theirs in future that I really DO like, this will be my first and last AMV using their music. I'm still bracing for the flood of "Coldplay are wankers"-type posts inside here though.

2) This took me 6 days to make, and I'm still learning how to use certain features in editing, so this is a LOT of experimenting on my part, I generally believe that the best way to learn is by trial and error, so I know some effects in here can be done much cleaner/better by others.

3) Please watch, and I welcome any criticism. Any suggestions on how to improve parts of the AMV, I'd welcome for the next 2-3 days, before I remove the lossless footage from my PC. Once that's gone, I'm not touching this video anymore.

I will give you an actual opinion via the opinion form for this.

There was much done right.

...and so much done horribly wrong.

You had me, on the edge of my chair, waiting, waiting, waiting to love this video... and all you did was tease, because every time the flow got awesome, you either made a really basic mistake that kicked me out of it, or you included that damned music video, or you chose a cheesy effect that just didn't fit at all.

I feel so unfulfilled.

Ok, well I guess the actual music video inclusion may throw off a bit, again, I was experimenting, and there were certain things inside the actual video that I thought would have matched pretty nicely (like the walking/running sections)...

I await further clarification as to what basic mistakes I made, if I want to correct them, now is the time for me to do so.

I'm trying to learn, so be as verbose as you want to be, I hope you realise I have no ego to work with, and am very open to any guidance as to how to improve...the only question mark would be if I have the ability to correct the flaws, once it's something I can figure out as to how to do, I will use it.

The actual music video destroyed the flow for me. I agree with Kionon 100%.

I dug this for the most part.. Song definitley fits.. LA video thrown in.. no. The only part of that where I thought it kinda fit was during the running compilation. That part where you have Gwenyth Paltrows bitch up in the clouds was just really bad imo. Reminded me of something from muppet babies where your watching a cartoon and all the sudden boom random LA... Or live action cow from drawn together.. Can't tell which... Moving on. Your story was good and I think most of your sync worked, wasn't keen on the effects... EF is really a stunning anime (visually) you don't really need to add anything to it. I think during that end scene I would have like to see a softer type of overlay as opposed to the divided screen shot things.. you were doing. But most of what I like in videos boils down to the emotion and the story line, both of which I really liked here and you did a great job with. Your scene choices were right on.
