• Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
 • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
 • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
 • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Yes, I'm new...and yes, this is my first AMV.

This is my first attempt at an AMV. I love to watch them but I dont have an ounce of creativity in my entire body so I never thought to make one. Then, one day I was listening to my new CD and I kept seeing scenes from School Rumble in my head as I heard the music. So I downloaded the trial version of Sony Vegas and decided to give it a try...this is the result. I actually made this like a month ago and uploaded it to LiveVideo (YouTube rejected it), but I came here to find a better audience and maybe some structured criticism. So, I hope you like it, and if you dont...be gentle.

hmm hmm hmm
They give me cookies if i'm nice :amv: ... dammit.

ok I'll settle more for honnest.

you need to Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides it will teach you about deinterlacing and how to improve you videos visual quality.
Now I've never seen school rumble (i don't like stupid comedy in movies or anime) so i really didn't find it in the least bit funny, I guess it would make more sense if i had seen it. Which brings me to another point about audience, when making a video it's good to consider your audience and decide whether the video will be for those who've seen the series or not, the latter is more helpfull but isn't always possible.
Sync needs some work but really this is a first video so you did ok, maybe next time look into some transitions and try to feel where the lyric and music change so you change scene there. I'd say though you do have a feel for it and just need to fine tune some more, it's about 50% of the way there and that's good for a first vid.
I'm not sure about picking this song for a comedy but you got the same type of bug i did, which is you listen to a song and see scenes in your head, that's also how/why i edit to what i do... great i've been cloned the world will end... my first video was also supposed to be comedy... it wasn't funny (well to me at the time it was. )

anyway keep at it another idea might attack you and force out another video.
new banzors in the making :p
