Cat Edit Productions 2008 - Posioned Apple

I heard this song on my local Rock radio station WBRU (95.5) and start seeing all these images of different animes, I have seen over the years. That's about 20+ years as a fan.. So I couldn't help but make it. However this video was the hardest video, I have ever made. Rap pacing is never easy but trying to express what I wanted through visuals proved even tougher. There is no way to show exactly what I wanted.. However based on the technology available and my rapidly decreasing free time this is the closest approximation. I know the aspect ratios are odd (due to the number of sources) and the audio is uncompressed (due to virtual dub being a bitch). I hope you enjoy Poisoned Apple.

Oh. One of my favorite songs.

/gets

Edit: I didn't really like it. Seemed all over the place, no clear sync.

I made a Death Note beta to this song once........hope this is better than that piece of crap >.>

*gets*

EDIT: Disappointed :(. It just seemed slapped together, lyrical syncing every single line but no real concept going on. Editing wasn't great either. Not powerful enough for the song and the cookie cuts just seem like they were cheaply thrown in >.>. Visual quality also sucked. Sorry but 1/5.

Eh, This is one of the few rap songs that I really and truly like. And I don't feel this really did it justice. Sorry :(

The whole video was about humanity in general.
I'm a lyrically driven editor not a big beat fan.
This video was about knowledge and how it leads back eventually to death.
I'm sorry if it seems random to everyone else.

1/5 is a bit harsh though :)

Four sqares at beginning didn't reallly fit into the video and felt more random than anything else.

The song, to me, is a more comical than anything that needs literal sync and with a specific anime like probably Golden Boy or School Rumble.

The biggest issue the video has, in my opinion is that you went the "serious" route with it, which isn't always the best route to take when you're dealing with a song of this nature.

The ending fit the best of the entire video, just because it actually felt horrific, which is what I think the ending of the song was going for.

Your biggest "flaw" I think in my opinion of viewing it is that you used too many anime in it, and it never focused on one singular point.

Editing itself didn't sync itself well. Cuts were varous and inconsistant, and the four-squares things came back with more and more annoyances left and right. :O

I dunno.. I just couldn't get into it.

Yeah I agree the beginning needed work in retrospect.
But I saw this is a sort of overarching concept piece about people
and the eventual outcome of how people are. Yeah I did this as a
serious video, I don't think there's anything wrong with that since the
original music video uses that route as well.
