I happen to like this song, so I clicked. With, I might add, a certain amount of trepidation. Watching a video from someone whose works I've never seen before is always a bit of a risk.
So the download finished, and I opened the file. My first thought: "Aspect ratios. Do you even know what they are?". Not a good sign. Then I checked the resolution. How can a video be at full res and still look this bad?
I check the audio. Surely it was done better, right? No such luck. PCM audio. Dear root, this is a technical nightmare.
Then came the piano keys, complete with encoding artifacts. The artifacts would show up just about every time there was an overlay of any sort.
I could go through and pick out points I took issue with, but it's not worth my time. There are just too many. There is a single overriding issue: pacing. In this video, the audio is doing all the work. Your editing is just too slow to hold its own.
2/5. You have some of the basic concepts of timing down, but that's about it.

I re-uploaded a better version just now. Also some changes in the AMV with timing, scenes, etc.Kalium wrote:I happen to like this song, so I clicked. With, I might add, a certain amount of trepidation. Watching a video from someone whose works I've never seen before is always a bit of a risk.

I liked it. :O
Good Points: Interesting way to edit the vidoe to the song. It's nice to see AMV's with this song not being totally seizurific and actually having a proper conceptuality other than "mindless violence and gore". I especially liked the last half of the AMV.
Bad Points: the piano keys made me want to hit your head with a kayak paddle.
They felt out o fplace and weren't timed very well. While the slow paced editing is what I liked about it, sometimes it was just too slow for even my tastes.
Meh. I still liked it on the whole scale. 3.75/5.00 ,n

I was running out of scenes to use so I prioritized which parts would have been more impactful with the lyrics. Hope I didn't blind you with the white flashes. >.<sweetdeily wrote:*sigh* intersting choice but the song got heavy and the action didn't, I liked your sync however, but really needed to use less white flashes ^__^
Thanks for the opinion though.
