Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Complete Action - Sokudo

Post by Azerwaith » Wed Sep 26, 2007 4:23 am

A Bleach AMV video I created months ago, though I'de give it a whirl on the ol' AMV forums. It's very well done, trust me. I put every little snippet of time and effort into it that I possibly could.

I sincerely doubt your claims. The .divx container supports my intuition.

Don't be praising yourself, it willl make people rate you harsher and you seem cocky :/

I'll get it, but if it doesnt entertain me...

EDIT: nice joke, 1/10

"It'll entertain you. I guarantee it."

Just for being so full of yourself, I SHOULD bring the rating down, but the video speaks for itself.

-Overused special effects that seem to flood the video.
-Video quality was overall..just bad.
-While the song fits the criteria for an action video, I don't think Bleach fits it. You had to speed up tons of clips to meet up with the beats and that just makes it look like a huge cluster of crap.

Another Bleach video that makes Naruto videos even more interesting.

1/5

I apologize for the "cocky attitude" comment. I merely worded it poorly.

I just wanted something that would reel people in to watching the video I put as much effort as I could into, that's all. My sincerest apologies, I didn't mean to offend anybody.

I'm not suggesting at all that I made the best AMV in the world, it's not that great by many standards, that I know.

Also, it may not merit the reason, but I did post the main title very late at night and I most likely wasn't thinking straight, sorry guys.

---

In response to you Rave, I think you "may" be completely biased just towards my comment, not the video at all. You provided considerable backup towards it being otherwise, but I fail to see it. There aren't a ton of effects that make it seem crappy at all, they are all low grade and make it easily watchable.

Two, the video quality is far from crappy... are you serious?

Three, I will agree with you on the speedage of clips, that HAD to be done to make the video even look decent, I've tried many variables. But in my eyes it really doesn't look like crap based on the speed. It would look terrible if it was slower in my opinion.

Then you're using the wrong anime/music combination. If you have to smash it in to make it work, you maybe should rethink your music or visual source.

Just my two bits.

The Video quality IS definitally crappy, not the worst but still pretty bad comapred to what is possible.

You should read The Guides, they'll help you with Quality.

1. You may have apologized for the comments you posted, but I'm really not sympathetic towards stuff like that. Think before you speak, as they say. And no, I was basing my comments off of your video unbiased. It's not about YOU, it's about the video.

2. The idea of action videos syncing up to every single guitar riff/bass line/drum beat doesn't appeal to me. Too many characters involved. Too many clips being sped up to fit the pace of the song. Too much going on all at once to really get what's happening. Bleh.

3. When I open your file on my computer, it opens in a screen that is smaller than the youtube flash player on default. When I full screen the video, it's blurred to hell, everything smashes together and it's pixeled everywhere. I'm never picky about video quality, but when you ask me "Am I serious?" Yes, I was serious.

Sorry, dude, but I just didn't like the video. While your editing is leaps and bounds above the you-tube editing crowd, not everyone is going to give you 5/5 omg awsm comments.
