World War III, Driven by fear.

Hey, after like a year of idling I finally found a song/anime combination which gave me some inspiration!

I tried my best to capture the dark atmosphere in the song and reflect it in the movie.
I used Adobe After Effects to make this video, I did alot of tutorials and was confident I could make some effects work with the video, unfortunantly I had no clue where to use effects without making them filler stuff that doesnt relate to the story, so I ended up with a video without much effects (atleast not where Adobe AE is required for)

I know the ending is kind of abrupt, this is *shame* because I had no idea how to continue it any longer without making it boring*

Constructive critisme/comments are all very welcome!

Edit: eww! accidently pressed Submit instead of Preview, link will be up shortly I suppose

You could have just edited it with the link:

^Here's the link when it's up
Care about the video itself, not what format it's in.

If a video doesn´t need effects, it doesn´t need them. You don´t need cool effects to make a amv good.

Yeah I´m a bit sceptic because you only used AE and we all (should) know that it´s made only for effects and not editing.

Yeah thats also a part what i've been struggling with, how to have a good workflow with AE and Premier, CS3 Dynamic link helps alot but premier had problems ram previewing the AE linked documents without taking 10 minutes, dont know why.

The AMV is uploaded btw

Think different:
-Edit in Premiere Pro the raw video without effects or the easy stuff.
-Export the clips you need in a looseless codec
-Edit them in AE
-Export the clips in looseless
-Place the new clip over the old ones in your Premiere timeline
-Disable the old clip in the timeline (even if the overlayed clip is with no corruption or transparency, Premiere will render it in the preview. Therefore you would need more hardware).

That´s how I do/did it. You´ll still have overview over your timeline.

Yeah I named my clips:
01-A.avi (Premiere export)
01-AE.avi (Final After Effects export)

Oder is a must imo.

Not really. I took me 2,82 GB for 132 files (720x540, Lagarith codec). It´s a 4:30 amv. You can check it out. It´s "Different Realites" in my sig. I´m sure you will notice the effects and how much they´re.

Thanks :D,

I saw your video Bazi and yeah thats the "good" way to use effects, guess i should dig a bit in the sync with the effects/using multiple at once in my next video.

You gotta be kidding. Yeah ok if you make the video in tons of sequences...
I don´t like the idea. AE can´t deal with avs without VFAPI or ffdshow (makeAVIs) and I´m used to use them as they are in Premiere Pro.

The video was ok. A good base for effects itself. It needs some more work here and there and yeah... I miss effects for the song. If you ask me it screams for some. It looked a bit like a beta. I guess I will write you an op to get more clear.

3/5
I was impressed about the fact that it was made in AE. I guess it must have been a pain in the ass.
Notice: I didn´t got into the story and lyrics. The score might raise up when I do.

Keep up. I want to see some more stuff from you.

Thx for watching. Good effects are those you don´t notice, because the make an overall image of the video together, but yeah mine are ok ^^' Just eyecandy
