[Slayers] Nightmare Manifest

Post by Kira_Douji » Tue May 01, 2007 12:58 pm

Image

My newest video, "Nightmare Manifest" is a return to an older series and a simpler style. There are no effects in this video and the series has been out for some time, but still remains my favorite of all time. It's something of a hybrid video, leaning mostly towards being a character profile of Lina as seen through the lens of the Lord of Nightmares. For a more in depth explanation, please visit the video information page via the text link or either picture link!

Comments and critiques welcome!

Oooh, a Slayers vid.

I'm definately interested. I'll be sure to check this out later and give you an OP for it. Downloading something else now though. >_>

Dammit...Mp4. Grr, now I'll have to download twice. >_> Well, I still want to watch it.

Holy Crap, that ruled.

I was gonna keep track of parts that were exceptionally good, like 0:41 , 0:51 ,1:25... ... then I thought... Holy Crap, the whole thing Rules!

That was a really good one. Something was missing though, I can't put my finger on it. I think it could have been a little lackluster syncing. The effects where good, but it just didn't really seem to "flow" like it should.
4.5/5

Thanks everyone for your comments! I'm glad you liked it! :D

@Cornwiggle: There don't seem to be too many Slayers vids around, and certainly not many recent ones, so I hope you can get everything working and enjoy the amv! I always suggest VLC media player whether you're watching MP4 or not - it's the only player I use and it works for everything without having to install codec packs ^_^

@Phantasmagoriat: Glad I pulled you over from the help thread! I hope the MP4 was crisp enough! Lord knows how many problems I had with it XD

@darthgamer: Thank you for your comments! I'm curious as to exactly what you mean, but I know you couldn't quite explain it so is there a section of the amv you can point me to that most exemplifies the problem with "flow" or syncing? I'd appreciate the help :)

Well, really watching it a second time I liked it more. lol
I noticed some things I didn't the first time. Which is good. ^.^
I think mostly the part that bugged me was between 1:20-2:00. I just get this wishy washy feeling that something is missing. I guess I should say im stingy with my 5/5's lol
But despite what I said before watching it a second time I think this might be more of a 5 for me.

Damn. Slayers, done so well. I like the simplistic editing style not using any fancy effects or fades, just hard cuts and quick timing. It felt a little short, I guess I was just expecting it to be a bit longer. I'll will be looping this video.

Oh, I know how to play MP4s, but I like to have the AVI version to burn onto a VCD, and I have to download twice to leave you an OP.

But I have to wait for my other download to finish first, but don't worry, this'll be the first one I watch. :p

This was pretty spiffay.

I didn't care very much for the song, but your editing/scene selection looked really good. Also, it's just nice to see Slayers get more love :)
