Well, I just finished watching this amv, since I like both Utena and the Muse..
My reaction?
It was overall pretty good. I dug the song and the sync was pretty good. I did not like all of the slow down effects used, and some of the overlays were hard to see.
Anyways, it wasn't bad. I've seen worse so...
Keep on striving to do better, ya?

thank you. in truth, this was probably a bit too complex of a vid to do after taking a five-month break; I had a lot I wanted to do with it and it might not have come off as well or as clear as it was in my mind.Anjira wrote:It was overall pretty good. I liked some of your editing, a lot if it was just a bit too slow. My favorite part of the video was the integration of the Utena trailer from like 1998. I assume that comes on the DVD as an extra or something.
Your aspect ratio was improper. Please convert to 16:9. And you didn't de-interlace. These are things that should be done prior to even editing. They are part of pre-processing your source.
Have you by chance yet seen Popularity?

I collect Utena videos like no other series, so perhaps I will.WUNETTI Productions wrote:ke ke ke.if you wish, check my profile - counting both series and movie, this is my ninth Utena AMV.
Yeah. That's mine. I'm one old slammajamma. It's been crying out for a remake. And that's why I'm probably such a fan of other music videos set to Utena. I integrated the trailer as well.and holy crap, you're the one who did Utena to "Story of a Girl"? I love that one, I've had it for years!

yeah, though I'm not sure how to access it on the DVD itself - I found it was part of what I'd ripped when I was making the AMV, and decided those bits would make a nice addition.Kionon wrote:I liked some of your editing, a lot if it was just a bit too slow. hmm... 720x480 has always worked well for me; I'm afraid I don't understand why aspect ratio is important. could you explain, or give me a link to explain it? as for the interlacing, I do deinterlace my source footage. things got kind of wonky with the slowing-down I did during the vid, and the interlacing was a result. I tried a few things to get rid of it, but nothing worked.Kionon wrote:Your aspect ratio was improper. Please convert to 16:9. And you didn't de-interlace. nope; I'll check it out.Kionon wrote:Have you by chance yet seen Popularity?

incorrect for widescreen

correct for widescreen..
thats the difference and why you should keep to the correct aspect ratio..
when you leave the footage 720X480 it streatches it out too tall..
you can easily fix AR after you finish editing...
