<b>Anime:</b> Naruto
<b>Song:</b> Rawk Fist
<b>Artist:</b> Thousand Foot Krutch
<b>Creator:</b> <a href="/members/members_myprofile.php?user_id=35187">Songbird21</a>

An action vid with a little background on Lee. A few FX, but nothing earth-shattering. Waiting to find out if it got accepted into the Anime Boston contest.

Please lemme know what you think. You might even get a review in return. ^_^\/

This video tries to hard. The footage didn't click to the audio.. it just has pretty much basic beat synch and no notable mood synch. Effects were pointless, the video was gimmicky and felt kinda like Stuart Larkin did the effects and maybe most of this.. but that's just my opinion. I loved another naruto video of yours using MK.. so I'm not trying to say you are bad but I am saying I feel this one doesn't deliver is all. May be quite enjoyable for some, but for myself can't say I really digged it. I'll give it my average 3/5.. not that bad.. kinda cool I guess.. seconds of it I thought good of it but most of the time I thought WTF.. "look what I can do!"

Edit: OK, I watched it again and think you did great in a lot of areas.. just some areas in the video I think really look like they were done by Stuart Larkin. If it wasn't for that, I'd probably like this video a lot more.. for all the well done parts(yes I notice the mood synch more).. I'll raise you up to a 3.5.. just because.. some parts I do dig a lot..

It's 8:51 am where I live and I did not sleep at all last night. Maybe once I get some sleep I can watch this latter and appreciate it more. @_@

Meh. I'm an old scholl editor for the most part. :)

Did you totally miss the parts from his past? Aside from that, however, I was working with extremely limited footage, so I couldn't quite do what I wanted with it.
x_rex30 wrote:Effects were pointless
Some of them were a bit gratuitus, but none were pointless. Many of them were there because the footage couldn't keep up with the music. One of the major drawbacks to only having 125 clips to work with.

How was it "gimmicky"?
x_rex30 wrote:like Stuart Larkin did the effects and maybe most of this..
Who the heck is Stuart Larkin?
x_rex30 wrote:but I am saying I feel this one doesn't deliver is all.
I'm sorry you feel that way. Guess I can't please everyone.

Now that's a funny comment for me cause most of the time I got my brother telling me I don't use enough FX. Lol. But seriously, I was pulling clips outta my butt by the time I got near the end of this. I had to majorly cut down the song.

Hope you like my next one better. :)

I'm soo tired that maybe you shouldn't take me too seriously.. I'm having trouble doing it myself.. I did add some good comments..
Did you totally miss the parts from his past?
Yes, that had good mood synch.. a lot fits nicely.. but in between great mood synch parts are scenes that look like they could be done different to fit better with the mood.
How was it "gimmicky"?
Flashy white boxes instead of mood synch.. and this song isn't too fast that insists on effects, but I understand you lacked footage. 90% of focus seemed to be on character movements and effects for matching beats and lee landing attacks on opponents. Not much focus on facial expressions but I see some areas where you match the mood with that.. again.. good I can see.. but too tired that I can't see all that clear in the first place.. and about the old school editor comment.. mood synch is something you hear about old videos and something you see lacking in new ones.. but I've seen that's been changing.. whatever I'll shut up now.. I'm half awake and half asleep.. I'm chilling at home but I'm for whatever reason unable to fall asleep yet I'm very tired. I'm too tired right now to know whats what, but I'm sure I'll love this later after I take a nap or something. Take care... -_- zzzzzzzzzz

and about the old school editor comment.. mood synch is something you hear about old videos
Lol. I meant as far as FX vs synching to actual character movements.

Get some sleep. LOL :D

I absolutely loved this video. Awesome job on the synch as always! I especially liked the black and white stills and the boxes towards the end. That was my favourite part. The entire video seemed to suit Lee's personality and the whole "never give up" thing he has going on.

Very very neat job, songbird! You did Lee great justice with this amv. (now if only it was full length.. I know you could pull that off ^_~)

Thanks! :D Perhaps if there is enough footage of Lee in the second series I can edit the entire song someday. :)

Bah, your fancy japanese had me expecting a little more than straight-up action :?

Nothing new here... Good sync just isn't enough anymore when the material's this overused...
