You can leave ops if there is a direct/indirect link but no local one.
But if there IS a local copy, you have to get that one specifically in order to leave an opinion.
I've always thought that this policy is really unfair to:
1) Editors who offer more than one version of their videos
2a) Viewers who have seen the video without having downloaded it (at a convention, for example)
2b) Viewers who downloaded the video from somewhere other than the Org (a filesharing utility, the editor's own website, some other generous fan's webspace, any one of those file transfer websites like RapidShare (which I've heard is f***ing 50 megs), etc.)
3) Whoever has to pay for the increased bandwidth required to re-download videos in order to leave opinions (in this case Phade, but he was the one who instituted the rule in the first place, so)
But to be fair, I've never received a fraudulent or flaming opinion in 3.5 years of listing my videos here, and that's the kind of behaviour that this policy was designed to curb. So people who have had problems with that in the past would be more likely to support the policy.
