Animation (a semi-anime vid)

Post by *inverse* » Sat Dec 09, 2006 3:33 am

This is a school project I recently completed. It's basically a quick look at different animation styles: traditional/cel, stop motion, anime, computerized and special effects. I'm not sure who the musical artist is (Bond?), but the song is called "V".

I only had a week to work on it, but I packed in a lot of hours - deadlines can be a good source of motivation :P

Footage:

- Secret of Nimh
- All Dogs go to Heaven
- An American Tail
- A Troll in Central Park
- FernGully
- Anastasia
- Road to ElDorado
- Prince of Egypt
- Spirit
- Snow White
- Bambi
- Cinderella
- Sleeping Beauty
- The Sword in the Stone
- Robin Hood
- Great Mouse Detective
- Rescuers Down Under
- Little Mermaid
- Aladdin
- Beauty and the Beast
- Lion King
- Pocahontas
- Hunchback of Notre Dame
- Mulan
- Tarzan
- Hercules
- Emperor's New Groove
- Lilo and Stitch
- Brother Bear
- Wallace and Gromit
- Chicken Run
- Nightmare before Christmas
- Corpse Bride
- Someday's Dreamer
- Ai Yori Aoshi
- Chrono Crusade
- Slayers
- Chobits
- Cardcaptor Sakura
- E's Otherwise
- Full Metal Panic
- Pokemon
- Rayearth OVA
- Saint Tail
- Sailor Moon
- D.Grey Man
- Cowboy Bebop
- Utena
- Princess Tutu
- Hunter X Hunter
- Yu Yu Hakusho
- Ah! My Goddess
- Peacemaker Kurogane
- Kaleido Star
- Trinity Blood
- Gatekeepers
- Wolf's Rain
- Angelic Layer
- Fullmetal Alchemist (TV & Movie)
- Laputa
- Princess Mononoke
- Spirited Away
- Howl's Moving Castle

- Toy Story
- Monsters Inc.
- Bug's Life
- Finding Nemo
- The Incredibles
- Cars
- Over the Hedge
- Ice Age
- Madagascar
- Shrek
- Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children
- Star Wars
- Harry Potter
- Lord of the Rings
- Narnia
- Garfield the Movie
- Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest
- Van Helsing

In short, preparing the footage was a bitch, but it was fun to edit.
(Big thanks to Takefuji for helping me find clips!)

Hope fans will enjoy :)

I'm just assuming I'm allowed to announce this. . .

I'm considering getting this just to see how you could use all of those in the same music video and create it in less then a week >_>. I've never heard of the artist or song but I guess I'll give it a shot...

Really though, the huge difference between footage is the main reason, so I'm expecting something unique out of this :P. I'll dl it and watch it in the morning and leave some feedback.

ok so i popped it open to get like a quick view of what I was going to be watching tomorrow and I just couldn't stop it. Lol... To top it off the song was a cool dance song so I had to watch the rest of it. I love beats like this.

Anyways, This was a very creative music video. I like how you labeled everything too. The sync was flawless and so were the effects used. Made it in under a week eh? That's... amazing...

I'm giving this a 10/10 just cause its so original and the idea of contrasting between the types of animation in the form of a music video was awesome (Hope thats what you were trying to do cause it worked).

Amazing, waiting for your next one :o

Actually, it's not "V (for EXTREME)". It's the original Beatmania version, therefore, it's just "V". But it's still by Taka.
