Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Well. My second AMV and in a new trend I'm setting for myself, I worked on making a short story out of my AMV. With that said, I did put a fair amount of work into the editing and clip chosing process. And gratefully this time I used more than a episode of anime. I spilled out more of my thoughts on the description, so please check it out, watch it, and comment, rate it, or whatever. Just tell me what ya thought.

Just watched ur AMV.
Never heard that song before (my music tastes must be retarded, 'cause it's good)
Not bad... you know when to change scene, but I felt u could have done more with the beat, flashes, movement etc.
vis qual was good in some bits bad in others, but it's not like i'm an angel when it comes to that :D
I actually liked the second half & final chorus better than the first.
well overall it's a hell of a lot better than some of my first/second/3rd/4th stuff!!
Will leave an op for u.
new banzors in the making :p

this, and this and these two

those are guides that can help you to get better visual/audio quality (maybe not the "top notch" but really nice stuff, if you can work your way through them)
and if im wrong and youre not using WMM, the correct guide can be found somewhere in here

either way, i felt that there could have been maybe a bit more action, but it was pretty good.. imo keep up the good work XD

Thanks for your comment and opinion.

I've seen and tried to create AMVs with flashes and other such "effects", but I tend to never use them b/c I feel they just "tamper" with the video. Taint it if you will. I'm not against the use of effects, but when I make an AMV, I intend to watch it myself. And in my opinion flashes, special effects, and other options aren't what make me want to watch it. I'm heavily more concerned with the meaning of the lyrics corresponding effortlessly with the anime, that they seem to have been made for eachother.
The visual quality..well..yeah. It's visual quality. It just does that.

Well I personally like the video all the way through,(well maybe except for a scene or two where the clips were perfect but the timing and length of them weren't what I would've liked.) I know no one can get out of it what I do every time, b/c it depends if 1. You've seen the anime. and 2. If you have seen it, not everyone exactly takes it the same way. The song itself is not really of my own possesion. One of my friends who hasn't ever laid eyes on anime and never intends to gives me music occasionaly, so that's really all I have to work with..., but as you can see I was able to pull something off.

"Action". Is that the only thing that can make a good AMV? Well, if you thought that was slow, you haven't seen anything.., my first AMV was a blinded zombie slowly plodding along a pit of quicksand compared to this one, but if you really thought it was slow...
Thanks for the guides. I'm a little bit more anxious to just edit, but eventually I'll get to perfecting my technique once I find a combination of Music and Anime I can really get behind.

Action is important for an AMV to be interesting. It's nice that you make your AMVs with your own personal tastes, but a lot of more successful AMVs were made with an audience other than the creator in mind. Don't get me wrong, it's important to like your own AMV- but if other people can't relate to it, or think you need to put a bit more action in, then it's worth considering.
I like that you have the guts to post your first AMV and take some crit for it, but please pay more attention to that critisism, as it is usually constructive in making your audience want more.

Editing can be lots of fun, but I think there is great merit in what Jaddzia and Aut have suggested. You should consider your video quality in the future, maybe not at this stage, but don't dismiss it- it is important. ^^

Lots of love! Can't wait to see some more of your AMVs!
