Grave of the Fireflies Video

Post by lil-dice » Tue Nov 07, 2006 1:55 pm

This is my first video, I always wanted to make a video of this song and the imagery in the movie fits perfectly.

Contains spoilers but this movie is from 1988, so you should have seen it. :)

Please let me know what you think!

That anime is to sad... :(
This is a pretty nice first video
I don't think i ever seen a video with that frame size before. ^_^ 428x240
The quality could have been better but it was good for that file size
You should export a higher quality version of it sometime

The aspect ratio is 16:9 - widescreen because of the dvd.

his aspect ratio is correct.

besides your FPS being a bit fucked, the quality being just average, and the song sounding like dozen early-puberty kids are singing it...

the amv was actually very good. you certainly know howto set the mood(though is this part really a challenge with grave of the fireflies?), your scene selection was good, and the timeline was smooth and told a good story.

i'd say your on your way to being a skilled editor. you just need to work on the technical aspect.

3/5
KioAtWork: I'm so bored. I don't have class again for another half hour.
Minion: masturbate into someones desk and giggle about it for the remaining 28 minutes

lol
i know the aspect ratio is right
What i meant about the frame size was its not a frame size that i've seen in alot of videos
The sizes you usually see are like 640x480, 720x480,512x384,720x576 ect.
I guess its like a widescreen version of 352x240 right?
anyway...

I agree with Minion. you are on your way to being a skilled editor.
Can't wait to see your next vid

I had that anime for a while but i've only seen it 2 times
Its not the type of anime you watch often^^

Thanks Minion,
I agree the framerate is messed up, i was not sure if the stuttering would be there when i exported from movie maker and it was.

I couldn't find my DVD so I had to use an xvid torrent. I think I might redo it and learn premiere if I can find the DVD again.

Anyway, as for the music that's personal taste, but in my defense TV on the radio is one of the hottest indie bands right now and I do love the song. :)

Thanks again for your critique!
