That vid was quality.

The Good:

- Story Coherency (SIGNED)
- Audio Quality
- Song Appropriateness

The Bad:

- Aspect Ratio
- Editing Synch (latter half)

Overall:

Fun. Coherent. Boppable. I enjoyed this video greatly. My only complaints are aspect ratio (you should have added letterboxing before converting to MPG) and that you had such a great editing synch in the beginning and about halfway through the video it started to die. I disagreed with a few of the digital effects, but it was a symptom of the editing synch dying off, and they were not problematic in and of itself. This one's a keeper, especially if you can get me a properly sized version.

well I purposely made it a 4:3 ratio for computer screens cause that what they operate at =). Ill prob release a 16:9 version sometime when i get the time. And I do agree, the latter half of the effects do tend to die off...I'm trying to stay away from effects as much as possible because too many tend to garble the AMV and make it incoherent. Also with the fast pace of the song it makes it quite hard to add effects that are "long lasting" i guess you could say. Ill have to work that out with myself lol. Anyways thanx for the criticism =)

No problem! I expect more videos out of you, you have serious promise.

As for aspect ratio... er, I'll just resize it myself then. VirtualDub for the win.

Hey thanx! Appreciate the atmosphere here, im gonna try and work on a Full Metal Panic! AMV here soon. Hopefully ill be able to get that together, I have a few scripted effects I want to try out on it. Song ill be using is Crossfade - So Cold. I think it links Sousuke's and Kaname's relationship quite well =P lol

Irrelevant. Chobits was encoded anamorphic, 720x480 with the 16:9 flag. If you don't resize it but encode it to MPEG with the 4:3 flag, it's going to look distorted, stretched vertically, whether on a TV screen or on a computer monitor. And it does.

But letterboxing wastes bits. So your best options are to encode it with the 16:9 flag, or resize to 16:9 (square pixels) and save to a different format (read: AVI). :P

Anyway, I'll watch and come back afterwards.
