Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

video is not bad though, although the quality of editing was not consistant throught, it felt like you tried harder on some parts than others. (especially with beat synching) visual quality bugged me a little in a few spots asweel. Not bad overall though, you did some interesting things with the effects.

I was kind of on a tight deadline, I made the whole thing in one week, which is the fastest I've ever done an AMV (aside from a couple very early experiments in AMV making).

There were a couple parts I thought about redoing, like the part where they blow up the GOTT building, but the other major obstacle was with trying to have a semi-coherent plot. If I had done just a pure boom and blast style AMV with no plot it probably would have been even better synch wise, but I'm kinda one of these weirdos who just isn't happy unless there's a story in the video. ^_^

You should have seen what it looked like BEFORE I cleaned it up frame by frame. Oh my gawd does DivX encoded footage not lend itself well to editing. Even just converting from DivX to Huffy using VDub the level of artifacting was just horrible, it seemed to take forever to have to go through and repair as many of the clips as possible by hand.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun making it, despite the hurried deadline, cause it was shown in a jurried student art exhibit out at the college. Apparently no one in the digital media classes had anything to contribute and the art director wanted to show off the school's diversity in art so I was asked to contribute something. It went pretty well, most people had a hard time understanding what it was at first, many people thought that the entire video part had just come professionally done and I just slapped background music on it. I used "The Making Of" from Forever to kinda edumacate teh noobs in how AMVs are made. After which they seemed a lot more impressed.
