Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
 • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
 • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
 • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
 • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Took me a while to upload it, but... Canadian Pride is up

Post by Kurai Seraphim » Mon Aug 30, 2004 12:23 am

Or so I think. The lil tracker thingy says theres no response, though it works for me. Maybe the uni put up a new firewall. If anyone has trouble getting it, please let me know so I can make the proper hosting modifications.

Anyway, yeah, this was shown at the cosplay at Animazement this year and most recently at Anime Evolution. You won't recognize it if you only went to the amv contest at AZ, as it unfortunately got snipped along with a few other videos (one of which won third place) when the dvd crashinated. Give it a shot anyway, as at least I think its worth a moment of your time.

Its the video with Gendo Ikari taking over Canada. Really.

My first venture into the world of various sources and I imagine I did more video editing on this than any of my other videos, though you hopefully won't notice the edits as they were made to make things look seemless.

Didn't win anything, but I've gotten a few e-mails asking me to put it up and now that Anime Evolution is out of the way, I have done just that. Open to all criticisms and I hope you enjoy the video

And for the record, no, I do not live in Canada. I am not Canadian. I've never even been to Canada. I named the video after the magazine cover you'll see for a second or so in the second half of the video, which was my own spoofing of Cosmo, Glamour, and the like. Said picture will be available if anyone wants it, just ask and I'll put it up for download or maybe put it in a zip with the video.

Enjoy the video and gimme input. If its well received, I may do more with the Gendo owning Canada continuity. If you think it needs karaoke subs (like in fansub openings/endings), that can be arranged if theres enough demand. Input good, its the candy of the amv world!

Files can be found if you click on my profile and the lower quality version can be found here if you wnat a quickie download without all of the details.

No qualms here! I wouldn't put it up if I didn't want it to be seen.
