  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Everytime I tried to enjoy what was going on in that video, that annoying flashy effect went off. I liked the scene selection and everything, but that flashy effect took away from a lot of the joy factor because it was too damn distracting. It's like just about every beat had to have it. :? I'm glade though to see another robotech AMV, since there doesn't seem to be that much of them!!!! >_< I'd say overall it's a pretty good robotech vid.

:D The flash idea was from seeing something similar in other AMVs I enjoy watching. Perhaps I used a little bit too big a flash effect, but, to me, all in all, I think it looks good, sorry you don't think so.

In any case, I'm glad you enjoyed the vid (-the flash) and thanks for giving me your opinions... they help!

I look forward to hearing if anyone else has any opinions on the vid!

Otaku, thanks for the opinion, but I just wanted to make one remark about it... why so low for the vid quality? The quality is (besides a DVD res to a 640x480 res change) virtually identical to the sourse quality for the robotech DVDs. You're not taking off because of '80s quality video? Or the fact that I don't have the remastered edition are you?

Is there a process by which to up the quality of source video w/o adding to the over-all file size?

A question for anyone, in any case, is... I've tried DivX, and I've tried MS Media9 (wmv?) compressions... can anyone tell me what they think is a good format for video to filesize ratio for a video 640x480 in size? All of my videos have been sourced from DVDs and most of my vids have had lack-luster quality reviews no matter how much I play with the compression algorithms to keep the video under 60meg (I'd love to go for 30meg at 640x480).

Anyway, thank you again for your opinion Otaku, and, man, you do a LOT of vids

Thanks

when ripping the dvd footage you might think about huffy codec
and next thing I want to know is how to remove my friging
rgb huffy interlacing when it coverts to xvid.
