just a little sidenote, do people usually call them 'movies' where you're from? or is that just something you've always done just by yourself?
just asking because i'm used to people calling them 'videos' or 'vids'
but ANYWAY, i thought the video wasn't that good
yes, you did have a lot of clips from goku during db, dbz, and dbgt, but they were basically fight clips
what you needed to do imo (in my opinion) was to sit down with the lyrics and decide what scene best fits the lyrics you're looking at
for example
"I took a walk around the world to ease my troubled mind"
you showed goku holding his brother while piccolo shot them
you could have shown goku (as a kid to start with dragonball) walking along some path with his little stick on his back with a determined look on his face (though he's probably happy most of the time in DB)
"I left my body lying somewhere in the sands of time"
you showed more of goku getting shot and then went to him turning partially super saiyan in the Lord Slug movie while crushing Slug's hand
you could have stayed with DB a little longer and showed when he first went into the room of spirit and time on Kami's lookout point... although i haven't seen this part of the series, i'm assuming he gets tired at one point and lies on the ground
"I really don't mind what happens now and then, as long as you'll be my friend in the end"
i just don't think Frieza was a good way to go for this line, yeah the action was good how he was fading away with the music building up, but it had nothing to do with the lyrics, it probably would have worked better if you had done something with Vegeta at this point since it's the point that they become allies and all
basically this is what happens throughout the entire video, you focused too much on the fights that goku has (gogeta does not count as goku, gogeta and vegetto are both supposed to be seperate people from goku and vegeta) so you really didn't show any of his character and what makes him goku expect that he's strong and that he fights the bad guys... which does show that he's good, but for all we know, he could have been the bad guy and everyone was trying to kill him
so more focus on lyrics and choosing more character involved scenes would be a good idea imo

...i don't know why you still used 3 Doors Down - Kryptonite... and on top of that... it was 1 of 2 complete songs you used... and the other happened to be Linkin Park
sorry, i just had to point that out
why DID you use Kryptonite again btw (by the way)?
...and also, it still didn't go with the lyrics a lot of the time
no one's saying that you have to sit there and listen to the singing and try to figure out what he's singing, the best way to know what he's saying is to go online and find the lyrics for yourself... unless you've done the unbelieveable and actually bought the album and it has the lyrics there FOR you... but either way, READ the lyrics and decide what clips would best match EACH lyric for use in the video
as for linkin park, it's been done so many times before with the old songs that if you're not gonna do an awesome job following the lyrics, you're really just adding to the large pile of stereotypical LINKINBALL videos already out there
and as for the scenes that you're using, think of it this way, if you're gonna do a video to a series that has NO action clips in it whatsoever, you have to be able to use SEAMINGLY non-action clips to make the video right? apply the same thing to DB/DBZ/DBGT, just because there is plenty of action, it doesn't restrict you to use JUST the action clips, some of the best DBZ videos out there are the ones that have MINIMAL action in them, it's all about the scene and what it means and what it shows, REMEMBER that please
....and unless you're doing something outrageously creative, i don't think you should use more than 1 complete song in ur videos... intro/outro songs are a different story... they don't involve the ENTIRE song... so try to use only 1 song and try to make it a song that you haven't already personally used already, though there is NOTHING wrong with seeing a song work more than one way, making two videos with the same song back to back is kinda strange and doesn't really show that you tried to find a kule song, and i know that no one is truely uncreative, so i KNOW you can go out and find a different song that would fit whatever idea you're trying to make a video into
-my 2 cents

okay, that would explain that... are there any bands from finland?SuperMajinVegeta wrote:im sorry but i don't know he words that well because im from finland!!
it's perfectly okay to use songs that are not in english just so you know
i guess doing more research would have helped, don't forget that no one is pressuring you to pound out a video everyday, if you wanna make a video a day, that's ur decision, but it's probably better if you take it slow and make sure you know what you're doing and that you like what you've madeSuperMajinVegeta wrote:And btw i didnt know what songs i would put to that video
well then i guess it's safe to assume that you're dling footage, please try not to do that too muchSuperMajinVegeta wrote:AND BTW AGAIN i don't know where to get clips where nobody fights!!!
i suggest instead of getting clips, try to get full episodes, they're not hard to find, i don't know about finland, but DBZ is very global... so hopefully there's some way that you can get it, even if it's only on VHS....without subtitles
i would suggest preparing your computer so that you can use footage that you have, like get a capture card so that you can get footage from VHS tapes or get a DVD-rom to rip footage from DVDs... but first learn how to before you attempt to do it.... and of course, if you're short on money... it's hard to prepare a computer for video editing... just make sure that you're "searching" for full "episodes" during ur "searching"
