Commerical Video - Noir DVD Vol 7 Omake

Post by AbsoluteDestiny » Sun Nov 02, 2003 6:32 pm

Hi All,

This is a different sort of announcement for me, as it's advertising a video I've done that you can't download from the org but is available on DVD at your favourite anime store.

I produced a video for A.D. Vision which has been featured as an Easter Egg/Omake on Volume 7 of Noir along with videos by three other editors (kusoyaro, dokidoki, nightowl).

The DVD was released on Tuesday 28th Oct so I'm sure some of you Noir fans already have a copy of this final volume to the series.

So, for those of you lucky enough to have the dvd already, here's how to access my video:

Go to episode 25
Skip to chapter 4 (which happens mid action)
Press UP on your dvd player remote.

For technical info on the video and if you want to leave an opinion, the video info page is here.

For those of you who don't have the DVD - go buy it now! Check out the other videos too - I'm sure their respective creators will be posting about them soon :)

I must say, that is extremely cool. I never got into Noir, but I may just have to buy this one to see what you guys have done.

Rozard told you eh?

Well considering those who knew weren't supposed to say anything...:-P

Anyway, I already told you earlier, but good job Ian. Especially after you told me the limitations you had on what you could do to the footage (i.e. no speed changes, only straight cuts and cross-dissolves, etc.).

 and congratulations

You did a production for ADV? Of all the companies that release anime you had to do it for the greediest of them all? :\

Ok, Now I'm jealous. But it's definately something you've got to put on your resume. As soon as I get a copy I'm giving it a look and a serious review. All of you.

Commercial videos are very different to regular amv work. First of all, due to complicated copyright issues, I could only use cuts and fades. Digital manipulations of various kinds are prohibited by the western license. Also, the choice of music was very limited...
*raise hand* Question about limitations.

Exactly how resticted are you with your creativity? If you can't do any kind of "manipulations", does that include color inversions/black and white or any kind of flashy "effects" similar to what you see in movie trailers? I really don't know what kind of limitations are put on anime licenses so I'm rather curious as to what you are bound to work with.
