New AMV for local band's concert's

Post by kurt » Sun Jun 08, 2003 7:14 pm

When I was asked to make this video, I figured since they were a local band the song they would give me would most likely suck pretty bad.
It actually turned out to be pretty cool. I'd hate to think about having to spend all that time on a video, only to never watch it because the song was so boring.
Anyway, I think it turned out pretty well. The shows I used were Lain, Blood, and Perfect Blue.
In retrospect, it probably would have been pretty funny to see the band's reaction if I had made a Kodomo no Omacha video instead.

Hi there. Ive watched 2 times now. Man your timing on beats and clips is freaking amazing. Ill give you opinion on that one. :) Your transitions, bring each char up front first.. Freaking Incredible I tell you..
Not that I know much. hehe I liked it, I will honestly tell you though, I dont know if it was the song or what... My mind couldnt absorb any lyrics because your work visually just didnt let me.. haha Aside from the drums, guitar and beats etc.. I have no IDEA what that man was singing..

Somewhere in there I picked up... You know I will break you, Hey Heys, And 6 mins is quite long to keep my attention and you did pretty much. the vroom vroom of the car got my attention.. :) Nice work. :) Not My Kind of Music, but that band should be pretty darn happy with your work.

When I finished the video, I asked them what the song was actually about. When I found out, watching it again was really kind of weird. I'm not sure I should say what it is since I don't want people to be distracted when they watch it.

My sister is going to be one of the guests again because of her webcomic so I'm sure I'll tag along with her as usual.

VERY nice work :D
Thanks. I was definately worried about that considering the length.

Thanks. You're right, I did use After Effects. This (and another video I was working on at the same time) was the first time I'd used it. It took a while to get going considering I wasn't even sure what After Effects could even be used for and it took me about 20 minutes just to figure out how to get a composition going.
