As I have said elsewhere, I reckon synthesizer and/or techno music is seriously under represented in the AMV world which seems rockguitar dominated.
So, to redress the balance, I went for a synthesizer classic - 'Magic fly' by Space from 1977!
A must see for all five synth music fans on the forum.
[I was planning on announcing this along with my upcoming Date-A-Live AMv which is going to be much more popular, I am sure. But, as usual, the cut is looking like going to be more complex and take longer than I first expected. It's always the way. So I'll call it quits here. Thanks for looking.]

That's a good way to show your appreciation for synth music and how anime can go with it really well, it's just that most people wouldn't have the patience to edit something like that, that relied on synth instrumental. The sound reminds me of Giorgio Moroder's disco synth music, maybe someday someone will actually edit to one of his songs

Oh wow, someone saw it, commented on it and appreciated it! Cheers!UnluckyArtist wrote:That's a good way to show your appreciation for synth music and how anime can go with it really well, it's just that most people wouldn't have the patience to edit something like that, that relied on synth instrumental. I figured this thread would die a quiet death.
An interesting point about the need for patience. That's a thought that struck me. If you do cut to synth or techno, you do tend to need a lot of short cuts and overlays. I am working on a Date-A-Live AMV now to a light pop song. There I was thinking, "Ah, this is easy. A few cuts here, a bit of long dissolve, great... How much more of this song is there???!!!"
I could cut the song short I suppose but I don't really want to. It means another three month cut probably!

Thanks for the feedback.

You'll want to post this, btw:
I saw your WIP thread for this a week or so ago and wanted to post in it but was too busy. Guess it's fine that I didn't get around to it since you did a fine job on this all on your own without any advice.
I like the opening, some of the effects are kind of cheesy but that's kind of fitting the music, and that's not dissing the music at all. It's very much a "retro" track so the stock effects feel right at home with it. I do like how you employed them, they'll be lost on a lot of viewers but I think they work with what you've got and what you were going for here.
I really liked this as you explored the whole "interstellar journey" theme and the visuals remained in the realm of the abstract and futuristic. The further you took this in an "action" direction, though, the more splintered the whole video began to feel for me. There's certainly room to do that and other viewers might actually prefer the 2nd half of this video to the first, but down the stretch I felt like the illusion that tied the 3 or 4 sources together was broken and I couldn't grasp how the Steins; Gate/Girl Who Leapt Through Time clips were connected to the scenes of the spaceships firing missiles at each other.
Good job employing the sound effects from the anime into the video, although I'm also wondering what the experience might've been like if they hadn't been there and the music had been the only audio track.
