Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Phoenix Rising - My first AMV (Final Fantasy VII)

Post by Knoepfchen » Sun Jan 11, 2015 5:34 pm

Hello and good evening,

I've been a silent member of this forum for almost two years now and have finally managed to upload my first AMV that took me quite a bit to finish for creative and technical reasons.

Even though neither the choice of video material nor music can be considered incredibly unique, I would love to hear/read your comments and make an effort to respond with commenting on a video of your choice (if you're interesting in my opinion, that is). I might not find the time to do that during the week, though, but definitely on weekends.

Please state your opinion brutally honest (but constructive, if possible) and don't be extra kind just because I'm a newbie - I'm here to learn, after all. :) Tell me what works for you and what doesn't as, after spending so many hours with this project, I am unable to judge objectively anymore, myself.

Although this is my first AMV, it wasn't my first tome coming into contact with video editing software, but I never undertook a project as challenging as this one before, for sure.

Thank you very much and I hope you will enjoy/enjoyed the video (and leave a link to the video you'd like an opinion on, if you feel like it).

Not bad at all for your first amv! It seemed well constructed, the quality and effort was apparent, you could see that it had story and the effect choices added on to the fitting music to make a good product. It didn't really seem too long because the animation was nice to just watch by itself. As basic Final Fantasy mv's go this was well done.
