and here's the catalog entry

for reference, you can do that by using the vidid tag. Just place the video id (the last part of the url for your video's information page) in between the tags like so

Code: Select all

 [vidid]187780[/vidid]

Here's my advice:

1) Subtitles! :nono: These are distracting to the viewer and not fun to look at. Either buy the DVD footage without them, or perhaps crop them out. It's fine when you're using it to display words when someone is speaking a different language (which you did do), however, using them during areas without them just isn't a good idea.

2) Lip Flap! Generally, you've got very static scenes with people talking (and their lips moving) [such as 1:40]. They really don't serve a purpose and look very distracting to the audience. Masking them out, or perhaps picking a different scene is generally a good idea.

3) Pacing! Let's look at 1:28-2:12 as an example.. This is a VERY heavy part of the song, but the video has the same pacing as the slower sections. The music and video just doesn't seem to match each other very well. Try and match the editing to the flow of the music. Here's a great guide that can help explain this better: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... =2&t=92942

4) Storytelling! You seem to be telling a LOT of different stories in here. I know that fairy tale has a lot of different subplots, BUT focusing on one story (or perhaps transitioning between the stories more easily or with a thread of logic) would better suit your purpose. I mean, it goes from the girl getting smashed with magic to fire hot guy enraged and then some guy that killed his sister to some rich heiress? A little much to take in. People unfamiliar with Fairy Tale likely doesn't know anything happening within this "Phantom Arc" that you told. The ending also was a bit confusing. I didn't understand how it served as an ending to all of those different story arcs.

In the end, it wasn't my cup of tea. Fairy tale fans may enjoy it though!

Be sure and stick around!

Hey CodeZTM!

Thanks for the excellent advice, i will take them all into account during my next AMV.
I think i will plan this one out a bit better in advance, this was done on the fly and just what i thought would look good but you are right about adding different storylines etc, it does seem a bit random looking back on it, thanks for the advice :)
