Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

This is my first AMV. Altough I never planned on making one, after losing an important person in my life I had a lot of sadness and grief within me and working on this video helped me a lot to process the loss. I share it with you in the hope that it will inspire others who are in a similar situation. :) Since it was a very emotional work for me I didn't follow any guidelines or FAQs, still I'd appreciate to hear your opinions and/or suggestions.

You kinda took the long way around for the video information there. Since it's in the catalog, you can use the vidid tag here (a nifty piece of custom bbcode).

Just stick the video id (the last part of the url for the video's information page) into the tags like so

and you'll get this...

I think that there are 2 big issues with the video:

1) The footage seemed fairly random with the muisc, and the clips were very long without much editing/cutting at all. Transitioning between one anime and another really was nonexistant. It went from Shinji Ikari to Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle, and I nearly did a double take. In the same sense, I felt like you didn't sync well with the music. You attempted some lyric sync, but without taking the music's beat/flow into account, the video didn't have the same impact it could have had.

2) Visual quality. The video footage that you used were all different aspect ratios and video sizes. It just didn't look very professional or good looking.

This is a very helpful guide that might aid you in future projects.
