Storming Enies Lobby

All credit goes to the original creator of the image. I just saw it and loved it.

Anyway, the title is self-explanatory; this AMV is about the Straw Hat Pirates storming Enies Lobby in an attempt to rescue Nico Robin. Even if you have no idea what I'm talking about, the video should still make sense. Honestly, One Piece is such an underrated anime here in the West, and I made this, I suppose, in an attempt to get people interested. It truly is brilliant.

Also, a huge thanks to my beta testers. Much appreciated.

This is such a well done action/profile video, and probably my favorite AMV done with this song now. :)

It has fantastic pacing and connection between the music and video, great scene selection and just a generally great atmosphere about it. I seriously have never had a desire to see once piece after what the dubbers did with it in America, but this makes me want to give it another try with the Japanese version of it. I was thrilled that you let me help you out on the beta testing of this video, and it was fun to see the video evolve.

You did One Piece a lot of justice, at least from the perspective of a non-fan, and I also want to mention that you and Rider4Z seem to be the only people in the world that have good one piece footage that acutally looks attractive. XD

EDIT: And it had a few hair line fractures with beat sync at times, but I seriously didn't mind. |:>

Since I was betatester of this vid, I can give a detailed comment of this vid:

At the beginning I was kinda esceptic of this vid. Quality wasn´t good in a moment. I detected several artifacts that were fixed during the 3 phases of testing.
But after all you knew how to make a better version of the vid. Even when I haven´t watched One Piece I get the story. And you chose good testers besides me xD

Oh wow, it is? Haha, thanks! I am genuinely very happy that this made you want to watch One Piece; forget about how 4Kids butchered the dubbed version, and go and watch it subbed! The recent FUNimation dub is also quite good, but they're taking ages to negotiate a license for the rest of the anime, so it'll be quite a wait. Plus, the subbed version's better. It is hideously good; I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone. And my friend, I was thrilled that you beta tested; you were a huge help, along with everyone else.

Haha, personally I think I've just shown the tip of the iceberg when it comes to One Piece. Despite seeing brilliant OP AMVs, I haven't seen an AMV yet that does it true justice. And haha, I wanted to make this this AMV attractive too, as most of the others have serious quality issues. XD

Once again, thanks! :D

Yeah, at the beginning it was really very flawed, and the quality was rubbish. XD But thanks to you and everyone else who beta tested my AMV, I managed to improve it a lot. Thanks!

And I agree; it really is brilliant. Honestly, it shot up my list at different points; it shot up a lot after the Arlong arc, the Alabasta arc and by Enies Lobby it was at the top of my list. But it just kept getting even better and now it's so far ahead of almost everything else it's amazing. :awesome:

One of the better OP videos I've had the chance to watch. Not that I've seen that many so this opinion isn't really that valid. I like the changes you made especially removing the blurs near the beginning, those really didn't add much for me. As I mentioned before I still think the sync at the chorus could be a little bit better but it's not that big a deal because it looks alright, I just felt like a faster pacing at times might be better.

Also your quality was really good. Good job and keep up the awesome work! :3

Maybe I'll watch OP soon..

Shoot you a PM about it, so I'll just copypaste here. ;)

First thing first: you encoded 720x480, but forgot to set the aspect ratio flag! Everything looks distorted like this. :(
As for the video, my complaints about the actions sequences being unrelated somewhat stand still while watch, but it does feel much less disjointed towards the end.
The final half or so of the video really worked well, so I guess it's fine, moreso because it retroactively shows that luffy and the others were fighting for robin (at least, that's the impression that I got with the scenes at 02:53 and 02:54), so it does connect the whole video. Since you can also easily tell apart which scenes belong to the flashback and which to the present, it's easy to get the whole thing together.
I'd guess like this it works. Some effect felt quite rough in the beginning (a few zooms, especially), but aside from that, I'd say it's come out pretty decently.

Enjoyed this - the biggining didn;t work much for me [All those black fades], but like mirkosp said, it came really came together in the end. It's hard to find a good One Piece vid, so thanks for making one :3
